MMA NEWS – "Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal" Fighters Test Clean For Drugs Of Abuse
The California State Athletic Commission recently releases the findings from their “Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal” testing for substances of abuse and performance enhancing drugs.
All fighters tested passed.
“Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal” took place this past Saturday from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California. In the main event of the evening, lightweight champion, Gilbert Melendez successfully defended his title against number one contender Jorge Masvidal.
Gilbert Melendez, Jorge Masvidal, Cris “Cyborg” Santos, Hiroko Yamanaka, Gegard Mousasi, Ovince St. Preux, Devin Cole, and Gabriel Salinas were the fighters selected at random for narcotics testing and they all tested negative for drugs of abuse.
Melendez, Masvidal, Santos, Yamanaka, Mousasi, and St. Preux were the fighters selected at random for testing of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED’s), however results for these tests will not be available for approximately 14 days.
