MMA NEWS | Ryo Chonan Denies Satoshi Ishii Injury Report

On Monday we reported here on BJPENN.COM that Japanese Olympic gold medalist Satoshi Ishii suffered a cerebral edema from his knock out loss to Fedor Emelianenko.
A Cerebral edema or cerebral edema is an excess accumulation of water in the intracellular or extracellular spaces of the brain. According to the original Japanese media outlet that reported the news, the injury will more than likely end Ishii’s Mixed Martial Arts career.
Now Ishii’s training partner and friend, Ryo Chonan took to thegarv.com denying the report and stated the following:
“Satoshi Ishii is just fine;” further, “the people who spread these false rumors about other people’s lives and livelihoods should just die.”
This statement is not an official diagnoses on Ishii’s condition one way or the other, but for now, it gives a glimmer of hope that one of MMA’s potential greats may still have a fighting chance to further his career.
Stay tuned as we continue to follow this story.
