MMA NEWS – Luke Rockhold Set To Make First Title Defense Against Keith Jardine
Strikeforce middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold is set to return to action and defend his title for the first time against UFC veteran Keith Jardine.
The bout is set to go down on January 7 in a yet to be announced event expected to go down at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The Rockhold vs. Jardine title fight is more than likely going to serve as the night’s main event.
Rockhold was last seen in action beating Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza to earn the Strikeforce middleweight title. The bout, which was won via unanimous decision, was the seventh straight victory for the AKA fighter.
Longtime UFC fighter, Keith Jardine, will step in to try and earn the Strikeforce belt and halt the Rockhold Hype train. Last seen in a draw against top light-heavyweight Gegard Mousasi, Jardine recently took the drop to middleweight where he has been able to notch two victories.

seriously retarded move by Strikeforce. Not only is their talent getting cherry picked by the UFC but they can’t find anyone to fight their champions. I really don’t believe that there aren’t any other talented people to bring in. there has to be other unheard of guys out there with talent and competition.
I like Jardine and all, fun fighter to watch, but this isn’t very strategic! Send someone in who’s earned a title shot, not someone who has two victories in the weight division…. Don’t turn SF into where washed up UFC fighters go to die.
