MMA NEWS – Grove vs. Minowa In The Works For ProElite III On January 21

The UFC isn’t the only promotion making plans for the 2012 MMA season.
ProElite version 2.0 is finalizing plans for their third MMA show scheduled for January 21, 2012 and they are headed back to where it all started at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. The event is expected to feature a main event between Kendall Grove and Japanese superstar Ikuhisa Minowa.
While still in the planning stages, HDNet is expected to air the event’s main card live.
Grove was last seen fighting in the same Arena for the same promotion during the ProElite 1 card this past August. It was a quick and decisive victory for the Ultimate Fighter winner and UFC veteran who took out Joe Riggs in under a minute of the very first round via guillotine choke.
Minowa has been recently linked to a signing with the UFC and a bout in Japan against Brian Stann; however news of his involvement with the ProElite promotion can put those talks to rest. The Banzai Japanese fighter is riding high on a four-fight win streak and is the DREAM Super Hulk Grand Prix Champion.
