MMA NEWS – Cris "Cyborg" Claims Innocence In Steroid Allegations
The former 145 pound female division champion of Strikeforce just released a statement on her failed drug screening.

“I am ultimately responsible for everything I put in my body, and at the end of the day, there is no excuse for having a prohibited substance in my system.
I do not condone the use of any performance enhancing drugs by myself or any other professional athlete, and willingly accept the penalties and fines that have been handed down to me by the California State Athletic Commission and those of the StrikeForce/Zuffa organization.
While I was preparing myself for my last fight I was having a difficult time cutting weight and used a dietary supplement that I was assured was safe and not prohibited from use in sports competition. It was never my intention to obtain an unfair advantage over Hiroko, mislead StrikeForce, the Commission or my fans.
I train harder than any fighter in MMA and do not need drugs to win in the cage, and I have proven this time and time again! My only mistake is not verifying the diet aid with my doctor beforehand, and understanding that it was not approved for use in the ring.
Unfortunately in the end I suffer the consequences and must accept the responsibility for my actions.”"I will do everything I can to show my fans that I can still compete at the professional level without the use of any prohibited substances, and ask God’s forgiveness for my mistake.”

Stanozolol is used as a “cut” steroid, among bodybuilders. It helps to lose fat, while preserving muscle. It also provides good muscle grown and strength.

I’ve been around athletes of many types for the last 20 years and more. I’ve known people who use PEDs and those who don’t. I’m no expert but there are a few things I know for sure. A woman on anabolic/androgenic steroids will (to a greater or lesser degree, depending on how much and what compounds they are taking):
A) develop a deeper voice, and
B) become hairier (particularly on the upper lip).
Other side-effects can be exactly the same as experienced by males:
1) spots (especially on the upper back, shoulders and upper arms)
2) greasy skin.
There are many more possible of course but these are the specific ones I’m aware of.
In a woman side-effects can be more pronounced because they are taking a male hormone which in their natural bodies only is produced in small amounts. The more they take, the more prominent and noticeable side-effects become.
These fighters have scientific diets and watch very carefully what they eat. I call bullshit, she knew what she was doing, she just got caught.
All fighters should be subjected to random drug testing at any time.

Why is it so hard to just admit that you cheated? Nobody accidentally takes Steroids, it’s so pathetic when athletes try to act like they had no idea what they were allowing into or on to their bodies. This wont be the last MMA fighter to get caught, but this is a huge blow to the possibilities for womens MMA. There are only a few quality female competitors and now theres one less.

The body ok, it might be possible without supplements, but you heard her talk…There’s two female body builders at the gym I work out too and they’re definitely juicing, same voices as Cyborg. The voice just a dead giveaway.
