MMA NEWS | Bellator Champ Hector Lombard To The UFC?
“Well, Hector remains our champion right now. We are in the midst of a pretty substantial negotiation relative to his future with the organization. I’ve said many times I think he’s the best middleweight in mixed martial arts so it’s not an easy negotiation by any stretch of the imagination. We’ve got the right to match on any deal. We’re either gonna sign him before he goes out the to marketplace or he’s going to go out to the marketplace and we’re gonna have a determination as to whether we’re gonna match or not match and we’re gonna see where it ends up. I love the guy and he’s an awesome talent. He’s been nothing but a pure pleasure for me to work with. He’s been a great guy for me to work with and he’s done everything we’ve asked him to do and every time I’ve put him in a cage, he’s knocked people silly. You can’t really ask for more than that from a guy.”

Pallahares vs Lombard would be epic. This guy is a beast but I think this is just a rumor. He still has to fight Alexander Schelmenko for the MW title.
That would be one hell of a fight there.
His streak is like 20 fights long. You know he’s fighting Anderson Silva as soon as he comes over to the UFC.
dont think they will feed him to the lions so fast they will prolly give him a top 10 guy then a title fight.
I’m thinking if he moves to UFC this year, they’ll put him against either the winner of Palhares/Beltcher, or put him right up against Bisping since he doesn’t have anything booked as of yet, that way he can solidify that he’s a top 10 fighter in MMA and can hang with the elite, then he’ll probably fight for a number one contender spot, and if he wins that then he’ll get a shot at Silva. I don’t think he’ll get a title as long as Silva is still fighting, but I do think he’ll remain at the top for a long time, and maybe even get the title when Silva retires.

Bisping vs Lombard isn’t even a fair fight. I’d rather him fight Mark Munoz as his first fight or Palahares in the UFC.

I would say Hector vs Vitor would be an all-time perfect matchup for his first fight after Vitor and Wandy go at it. Love Wandy, but see Vitor taking that one at this point.

They won’t give him Silva right away because nobody outside of “hardcore mma fans” don’t know who he is..he’ll fight a top 10 or 5 guy first and then a title shot like they did with Shields..his fanbase isn’t nearly as big as Nick Diaz’s.
Good point… I didn’t even think about the marketability of Silva vs Lombard based on his fanbase being non existent to casual fans. But, I think he can beat almost all of the MWs in the UFC and give Anderson a run for his money. I doubt Bellator would let him go without a fight though.
i can sense a bisping lombard fight. silva and vitor are fighting, silva and sonnen are fighting so that dosent leave u much to pick from, personaly i think bispings the best guy in 185 division that isnt tied up with a fight so it would make sense to put them against each other. i have never seen lombard fight, i herd hes realy good but i know anywere the fight goes bisping has a good chance to win because hes so well rounded 1 of the most well rounded and underrated fighters in the ufc!

FINALLY! Dana has finally found an interest in Lombard.. Been trying to tell people for couple years now that Lombard needs to go to the UFC and get ou tof Bellator! Also Bellator doesnt have enough money to match the UFC!

Lombard, who was then a welterweight, was signed by the UFC and was slated to take on Karo Parisyan at UFC 78. Visa issues forced Lombard off the card and prompted the UFC to tear up his contract. So its funny that he acts like he doesnt know who Lombard is.
Yeah he hasn’t fought top tier competition but he’s wrecked everyone along the way in spectacular fashion! If people are liking Brian Ebersole as a new addition to the UFC, take note that he got pummelled by Lombard 3 years back and submitted to his punches in round 4… Nny prediction is this guy will be the new talk of UFC once he enters…

he is still with belator…and there are rules about talking wit fghter when under contract….dana is talking in the far future when his contract is up…and this is if lombard willl leev,,,i doubt he will get more money from ufc cuz he not that populer…and he will get beat real quick in ufc….if lombard eveer signs with ufc it will be in 1 or 2 years when anderson is allready retired and there will be neew champ,,,read the article better fuuks
