Mitrione Feels Dangerous: Ready to take out Kongo in spectacular fashion

“I promise you I’m ready to scrap. I’ve put in so much work. I’m ready, I’m excited, I’m not overtrained. I feel l’m ready to go. I’m going to give a wonderful performance. If Cheick wins, damn good job but I really feel I’m going to give a hell of a run for it. I feel like I am a very, very dangerous human being right now. I feel better right now than I ever have in my life,” he said. “If Cheick’s lucky enough to beat me, he beat the very best product I could put out there. The very best. I feel that I am extremely dangerous anywhere inside of an 8-sided cage,” he said. “Whether it’s up against the fence, on the floor, up on top of the cage, underneath the cage, I feel wherever the hell it’s going to go, I’m going to be there ready to scrap. I feel that Coach Neil put so much time and energy in me that if Kongo can get it to the ground, he won’t want to keep it there. If he does, I’ll tap him. I promise, I’ll tap him or I’ll break something, but I’ll get something done.”
Undefeated UFC heavyweight Matt Mitrione, talking to Ariel Helwani on today’s “The MMA Hour” about his UFC 137 bout coming up next week with Cheick Kongo.
With a still new career Mitrione has been able to put together a five-fight unbeaten record, however, next Saturday he will face a guy who is the most experienced and dangerous of all his prior foes. Kongo was also able to knock out Matt’s teammate, Pat Barry, very viciously.

I think Kongo’s chin is starting to give.. hes been in some wars and is like 36 years old. So i have Mitrione by tko in the 2nd. If Kongo had the chin he had say 3-4 years ago, id have bet on him.
agreed
Good call creature. TKO or KO in 2nd for Meat.
fan of mitrione he’s constantly learning and doing well in mma. kongo is a beast too. i got mitrione on this one.
ufc137 is gunna be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mitrione is goinna show why he should be in the video game
WAR MITRIONE. One of my fav heavyweight fighters.
Mitrione in 1st!! Via ko! Guys a beast Congo is very good but barly got out of the first round with barry his chin aint what it used to be. He’d surprise me if he gets out of the first round.
his chin must be good enough to take those punches than land a knockout of your own
No doubt! This is a dangerous fight for Kongo, but I can’t count him all the way out. I think he has more of a chance than people are giving him
I could see this going either way. cheick was a beast for sure, i think he still has it in him, but like every1s been saying, his chins abt done. and mitrione, is definatly a hellofa fighter. i wont b surprised if cheick pulls this out for his record, or if matt feels like improving his. i have alot of respect for both of these guys, and cant wait to see wat happens on the 29th. i cant beleive how amazing this card is. i think it has alot of good fights
im telling yall meathead will be in the title picture late 2012 mitrione is a beast
Definitely a close fight. Idk I’m thinking Kongo will get the upset…in a similar fashion he did against Pat Barry.
im going with kongo, mitriones never fought a guy worth mentioning, a win over kongo will put him on the right path ( and no kongo isnt a top 5 guy but he’s higher than every other guy meatheads faced so far.)
Great match up. I got Mitrione in the 3rd by KO.
Sweet ,go get em meathead,I’ll be rootin for you!
Mitrione did KO Big Nog right? So that was a step up for him, now another step up to Kongo. UFC is planning his career well.
Don’t write off Kongo cause he got rocked by Barry. Kongo’s chin is fine, he took the punch and managed to KO Barry after that. I like both fighters, so not picking a favorite, but I think this will be a fight we can all enjoy.
mitrione NEVER ko’d big nog. never even fought!
Hahah oh **** you’re right! That was Brendan Schaub gettin KO’d by Big Nog!
That was really stupid, my bad!
I’m way up for this fight. I like Matt and watching him fight and Chek is a beast. Kongo is a good test to see just how good Matt is. Another great fight on a stacked card.
i like Matt but i think Kongo is to experienced to lose this one.. hope its a good fight..
@junkie eat some dikk bitchh
Meat all the way, one of my favourite HW’s. He’s a beast, great fighter to watch and has brutal power. Kongo is a little past his best. I call it for a 2nd round TKO to Mitrione. After this he should step up again and maybe take on Mir or Carwin.
Meathead is gonna get him. I don’t think he’ll make the same mistake Barry did.
