Mir Or Velasquez, Who Is The Betting Underdog? Find Out Here

Two of the UFC’s top heavyweights are set to square off in May at UFC 146.

Frank Mir is a two time champion; Cain Velasquez is a former undefeated champion coming off his first professional defeat against new champ, Junior Dos Santos.

The winner of the Mir vs. Velasquez bout will be crowned the number one contender and face off with the winner of the upcoming JDS vs. Overeem heavyweight title fight.

But who is the betting favorite?

The line has just recently been released and it’s Cain Velasquez who is a huge betting favorite over the very tough Frank Mir.

Here is the betting line:

UFC 146 takes place May 26th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and is headline by a UFC heavyweight title fight featuring Junior Dos Santos and Alistair Overeem.

  1. K2 says:

I can’t call it either way. I just know it should be a hell of a fight.

    • Kyle Smith says:

Oh come on. Mir is one of my Top 5 favorite fighters of all time but I know that he doesn’t stand a chance. First round TKO for Cain.

  2. Jujitsu Player says:

I like Mir but I definitely give this to Cain, Mir seems to struggle against the guys with the better stand up. I hope Mir pulls it off but my money woulkd be on Cain for rd1 TKO.

  3. Jb says:

    Mir all day long

  4. Jared says:

If Mir can’t get Cain into a sub, he’s done. Cain’s wrestling and striking will demolish him. He couldn’t even stand with Big Nog.

    • Ronnin says:

What r u talking about? Mir Knocked out Big Nog. Still I think Cain has this… KO 1 round

    • Mayor of Deviance says:

If Mir can’t do something he does REALLY well he’s screwed? Uh oh he’s in trouble. And to Big Nog’s credit he has been all over boxing lately.

I feel like people are counting him out right away for no good reason– just like they did with JDS. I think I’ll make more easy money from all the overhype Cain is still getting.

  5. I’m on Mir since his beginning…

  6. jb fag says:

    Suck my dick u fag

    • jeff says:

u mean you want him to lick your *****, in order for him to suck your dick u would have to spit one out, and we all know you are never going to make that dick leave your mouth.

    • bjjJake says:

ur telling another man to suck ur dick and the other guy is the fag O_o i think u got it mixed up there buddy, but to each there own i aint judging u. Oh and sorry to hear ur boy Dakota Cochrane lost

  7. Dick Niaz says:

I expected Cain to be a favorite, but that line seems way off to me.

If I was a betting man, those numbers would have me putting some cash on Mir. Cain has improved his standup, but he has still gotten hit a lot. JDS put him away easy, Kongo had him rocked over and over again… Mir is pretty good on his feet, and Cain doesn’t hit as hard as Carwin or Brock to put Mir away.

I think people are sleeping on Mir in this one.

  8. David Mcfrederick says:

I’m saying it now Mir is the champ by years end or beginning of next year Guarantee he’s by far the most talented well rounded heavyweight out now and now he has a new sense of purpose, great fighter, great spokesman for the sport and soon great champion

  9. Ted Hall says:

mir just jacked up Big Nog. he can do amazing things.

  10. Mir says:

Mir, soon to be 3 time heavyweight champ!!

  11. Thetude says:

Mir is looking pretty impressive in the ring and that photo but velasquez is gonna knock that dude out for sure.

  12. browneye says:

    Andre arlovski -800 Haha

  13. Me says:

    Cain. Mir is Dead

  14. Pijan says:

Mir will lose in probably not even a close fight. Overeem/JDS will be an epic fight though. I sense a JDS/Velasquez II. JDS will still win it but it could be a different fight if Cain doesn’t try standing again.

  15. Ray says:

Mir for sure ,too good on the ground

  16. G says:

Extremely surprised that Mir is such an under-dog. He has been murdering people lately. Will be one hell of a fight, though.

  17. jovany says:

I don’t know, Cain looked horrible his last fight. Physically he looked a lot smaller and jiggly than usual. I think something is seriously wrong with Cain.

  18. jim says:

    Im going with mir.

  19. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Most likely Cain by TKO in the first, but Mir could do exactly the same to Cain and he can submit him on the ground. Cain is younger and has a better chin and that’s the bottom line.

    • TrigenicKin says:

What? Everyone knows Cain has no chin. He is younger, yes. Better cardio? Yes. Better wrestling? Yes. Better Thai Boxing? Yes. Better Jiu-Jitsu? Fuck no. Longer reach? Fuck no. Mir has to fight smart, get this to the ground, and submit him.

  20. TranceAngel says:

Anyone know a legit site where I can put some money on this ?

  21. daviid says:

Why does everyone think cain is that good. I dont get it. He hits hard but thats it. Hes just like carwin. Mir has this.
