Mike Swick Inks New Four Fight Deal, Books Brown For UFC on FOX 5 | UFC NEWS

UFC welterweight fighter Mike Swick has more than just one reason to be smiling today.
After taking off nearly 2.5 years from his professional combat career, he successfully returned to action this month and earned “Knock out of the Night” honors when he faced off with DaMarques Johnson.
He now has announced through his official twitter account that the UFC has renewed his contract for four more fights.
Additionally, the UFC has booked his next appearance set for UFC on FOX 5 opposite Matt Brown.
UFC on FOX 5 is set to take place on December 8 from Seattle’s KeyArena. In the main event Benson Henderson will attempt to defend his lightweight title for the second consecutive time against Nate Diaz. BJ Penn vs. Rory MacDonald are also booked for main card action.
As mentioned previously, Swick returned to action earlier this month for the first time since June of 2009. The welterweight was able to take out his opponent DaMarques Johnson with a brutal second round knockout that earned him “KO of the Night.”
Facing Swick will be the hard hitting, always tough, Matt Brown. Brown is riding high on a three-fight win streak that includes victories over the likes of Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, Chris Cope and most recently a TKO win over Luis Ramos at UFC on FX 4.

This is gonna be a great fight, gonna go with Matt in this one.
I do not see this fight turning out well for Brown. We’re talking about a journeyman fighter like Brown going against a former top contender in Swick.
So stoked for Mike. I actually had physical therapy on the same day as Mike (about 2 weeks ago). He appeared to be a really cool guy not even cocky at all. I gotta tell you he was pushing the physical therapy and looked like he wasn’t even injured… Guys a beast and I hope he does well against Matt.
ANother living legend. I like Mike. Maybe he will make it to the top, even at his fighting age.
