Mike Pyle says he’s going to fight James Head at TUF 16 finale | UFC NEWS

The welterweight knockout artist Mike Pyle (23-8-1 MMA, 6-3 UFC) tweeted that his next fight will be against James Head (9-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) at The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale on Dec. 15 at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

It’s not been announced whether the fight will take place on the FX-televised main card, or the FUEL TV-televised prelims. Either way, we know this for sure, be prepared for a welterweight battle.

The veteran Mike Pyle is coming off of two huge victories, a TKO win over Ricardo Funch at UFC 142 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The other a KO victory over Josh Neer at UFC on FX: Johnson vs. McCall. Both of these wins came in the first round and the KO of Neer earned Pyle a “Knockout of the Night” bonus.

Since joining the ranks of the welterweight division James Head has been on a roll, getting a first round submission victory over Papy Abedi at UFC on Fuel TV April 14, 2012. Then he dug deep and pulled out a split decision victory over the very talented Brian Ebersole.

Going to be a war for sure, I can’t wait.

  2. Dick Diaz says:

i think it would’ve been cool if Neer had finished Pyle… that dude would’ve been on a 8 fight win streak. but Pyle is the man too though!

  3. 757 says:

Dude I like Neer. He is tough and always gritty. Pyle was about to be beat. The round was coming to a close and he got really lucky. It always happens like that. Chuck got knocked out by Franklin with 5 seconds too. Anyway Pyle pissed me off after. He acted like he planned that or tried it. He got real lucky.
