Mike Brown Retires On A High Following Victory Over Pineda At UFC 146 | UFC News

By Jamie McAllister
After defeating Daniel Pineda at UFC 146 via unanimous decision Mike Brown has decided to retire.

After the bout, Dave Meltzer reported in The Wrestling Observer that the 36-year-old Brown, a former WEC champion who had struggled to a 4-3 record since losing the title to Jose Aldo in 2009, had decided to retire after the bout. Brown retired with an overall record of 26-8, 2-2 UFC.

In his career Brown has faced the likes of Hermes Franca, Joe Lauzon, Mark Hominick, Yves Edwards, Leonard Garcia, Urijah Faber & Jose Aldo. However ever since losing the WEC title has never been the same.

What do you think of Brown’s retirement is it at the right time ?

    doesn’t matter what we think

a man knows when he’s done or not

    pick a better question

  2. Ruben Hilario says:

    Sad to see him go!!

  3. Patrick says:

He still most likely has some stuff left in the tank but, is not sure if he will get the match ups he would like. He beat some game fighters and there is nothing to be ashamed off.

  4. tim says:

i met him in lewiston a few months ago and he is a good guy to bad to see him go!!

  5. John M says:

He’s beat some pretty good fighters and been the champ before he can retire on a good career. Mike is the only MMA fighter I have met face to face. Met him in the Ft. Lauderdale airport, he is a down to earth guy and I wish only the best for whatever life has in store for him.

    • GET RID OF FITCH ( forever) says:

I think Brown should ask for a 3rd fight with faber after Faber gets his ass kicked by bareo. Amazing all the fans that don’t know or don’t give Brown credit he deserves for beating the hell out of Faber TWICE

  6. Xaninho says:

Cain Velazquez is so proud of Mike brown he got a tattoo to honor him.

  7. Dick Diaz says:

i’m glad to see a fighter like brown end it on a high note.

  8. Colin Quinn says:

    that motherf*cker is f*ckin ripped

  9. Nuitari X says:

I liked mike brown and I was excited to see him fight again this past event. I was hoping he would keep going as this is quite a shocker to me. I’m sure he has a good reason for wanting to hang it up though so my hats off to ya mr. brown. It was nice seeing you wipe the shit out of faber’s ass chin twice.

  10. Adam Conklin says:

Glad to see him go out riding a great fight.
