Miesha Tate replaces injured Cat Zingano to coach against Ronda Rousey at TUF 18
According to ufc.com/news when taping began on Tuesday for TUF 18, UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey got quite the surprise in the form of her opposing coach: her long-time rival Miesha Tate.
Rousey was expected to coach against Cat Zingano who defeated Tate to get the coaching gig and a chance at the bantamweight champion. Zingano suffered a knee injury during training, forcing TUF 18 to call up a new coach, which they revealed to cast members and Rousey herself earlier today.
Rousey will now face Tate at the end of the season instead of Zingano for the bantamweight title. This will be a rematch from when Rousey defeated and took Tate’s Strikeforce title in March of 2012, via (of course) first-round armbar submission.
