Miesha Tate: Ref Freaked Out Because Of The Blood

“Can’t help my nose bleeds a lot still frustrated at the stoppage, think the ref freaked because of blood when she should have been focusing on the fact that I was still perfectly coherent and shooting for a takedown after two solid knees landed. I was still in the fight and up on the score cards.

“Can’t pay enough respect to Cat she’s a warrior & I’d love the honor of fighting her in the future again but NOT with Kim Winslow as the ref.”

Taking to Facebook.com, Miesha Tate, tells her followers that she believes the referee in her fight against Cat Zingano freaked out because of the blood on her face and stopped the fight prematurely.

  1. The Way Of The Dutchman says:

Nonsense. She didn’t go for a double leg, her own legs gave out and she fell on her knees ready to receive a vicious beating. She wasn’t defending herself and was going to get hurt real bad if Winslow hadn’t stopped the fight.

Winslow is by no means a good ref, but this stoppage was a good one.

    • Gargoyle Wrestling says:

That was a shitty stoppage. Did you forget that this isn’t a sewing club, its fight club??? Fighters get hurt. That elbow didn’t drop her. It caused her to go down for a double or single to stop any knees. She was protecting herself by doing that!! That is called coherency. She deserved to have the opportunity to come back or have Cat KO her. It’s not like she was losing up to that point. Winslow was probably stoned.

  2. BT says:

^^ agree. Her “double” was in reality her getting dropped by an elbow. It was also more than 2 knees… she tooke 4-5 unanswered knees and a solid elbow, which knocked her down. She was going to take more shots with her head exposed and both hands on the mat. I think a lot of this is posturing and arrogance. Tate comes off overly confident, cocky, arrogant, and disrespectful. These statements discredit Cat, the ref, and imho are detremental to mma/wmma. I’m not a miesha fan, love to watch her fight, but not a fan.

Agree on 2nd point, below average ref, but a good stoppage.

  3. Rodriguez says:

She is still complaining after she just topped the medical suspension list? I am glad the fight was stopped. Who knows what would have happened if it kept going.

  4. YoMama says:

Not true. She was toast. The knees were vicious, even as good as the Silva Franklin knees. She had 0 chance of coming back, let alone staying awake after that beating started.

  5. 123 says:

Theese women r exciting, Cant wait to see Ronda Rousey in a tough fight.

  6. Drew says:

Tate your a warrior but if the ref dint that beautiful face may be gone for good

  7. 757 says:

Look at the picture. Cat’s knee is bloody. That is from Tate’s nose. Meisha is tough but she was done. It wasn’t just a bloody nose. She has been medically suspended because her nose was busted up big. Move on Meisha . You fought tough but Cat beat you. No shame in that just move on though.

  8. Artemis Entreri says:

I have to agree with Tate here; she did quite a bit of damage to Cat’s knee with the bridge of her nose not to mention that last strike to Cat’s poor elbow with her ear. She was about to follow that by turtling and wearing out Cat’s fists with her ribs and the sides of her head before the ref foolishly stopped the fight. It’s just like the time she got robbed when she was twisting her arm backwards around Ronda Rousey’s upper hip for a leg lock and lost that fight too.

  9. blah says:

Man.. I hate kim winslow but this was a textbook perfect stoppage. Tate took more than 2 fuckin deadly knees clean to the face. Then a huge elbow to the ear which dropped her to the ground. No, not going for a take down, it dropped her.. That’s what happens when you take an elbow to the ear like that. Both her hands were on the ground and she was about to get totally fucked by more free shots. Even more proof is that the fight was stopped and she stayed on the ground, destoryed.

Tate is just being a sore loser. A major problem is likely that she has a bad corner that tells her what she wants to hear instead of the reality.

  10. Harry says:

Miesha Tate is a good fighter but I am getting very sick of the fact that she can’t lose a fight without complaining about everything.

She will never get better if she never owns up to her losses and tries to learn from them.
