Miesha Tate Happy To Be Away From Rousey Drama
Despite a recent 0-2 run in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Miesha Tate is looking at the positives when it comes to her upcoming fight with Liz Carmouche. “I really like being matched up with Liz,” Tate told ESPN.com “It’s so refreshing. She has great sportsmanship. I get along with everyone from her team. It’s nice to just not have anything else to focus on. No drama. For most of my life, I’ve been a drama-free girl.”
The drama she is referring to, of course, mostly stems from her history with champ Ronda Rousey, who coached opposite of Tate on “The Ultimate Fighter.” Tate seems to want to look past that, however, and focus on her future, including the possibility of another title shot. “If I beat three top people: Liz, Zingano and McMann or something like that. Those are the best girls in the division right now. Beating those girls would establish I’m the No. 1 contender.”
Tate, who is still ranked number 3 in the UFC official rankings, looks for her first win inside the octagon in her fight with Carmouche. The two fight at UFC on Fox 11 at April 19th.
