Michael Johnson says he’ll take fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov
It’s no secret that UFC President Dana White has been having trouble finding an opponent for undefeated Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov who is on a 5-0 win streak since his debut at UFC on FX 1 back in January of 2012.
Nurmagomedov was originally set to face off against former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez, however Melendez recently pulled out of that fight. Then, this past Saturday, Dana White hit Twitter claiming that not only did Nate Diaz turn down the fight, but that “Nobody wants to fight Khabib.”
Diaz’s management denies any claims that Nate turned down the fight and instead state that the UFC declined certain “conditions” therefor Diaz declined the fight.
Regardless, a challenger has risen. “The Ultimate Fighter 12″ finalist Michael Johnson responded to White’s claims on Twitter saying that he would take the fight. He recently asked for Diaz as an opponent as well.

After his appearance on “The Ultimate Fighter” season 12 Johnson went on a two fight losing streak, being defeated by Reza Madadi and Myles Jury. However, Johnson has come back with a vengeance giving two outstanding performances against two very tough competitors in Tibau and Joe Lauzon.
It seems that Johnson simply wants to keep the momentum moving forward as he asked for basically any opponent at 155 lbs. And the way he sees it, if he keeps asking for contenders then maybe the UFC will help him in his climb to the top of the ladder.
