Michael Bisping says Brazilian fans want him to ‘kill’ Vitor Belfort at UFC on FX 7 | UFC News
UFC middleweight top contender Michael “The Count” Bisping (23-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC) was shocked when he showed up for the UFC on FX 7 open workouts earlier this week in Sao Paulo, Brazil. According to “The Count”, the Brazilian fans in attendance asked him to ‘kill’ Vitor Belfort (21-10 MMA, 10-6 UFC) on fight night.
The following comes from the Brit’s official blog via Yahoo! Sports:
“At the open workouts earlier today, I had fans coming up to me saying ‘I hope you kill that mother-[expletive]‘ and ‘We can’t stand that guy!’ I’ve got it on video; it really took me by surprise. He’s obviously got his fans – and I expect I will be booed like it is UFC 100 again on Saturday night – but a lot of people here in Brazil have no time for Vitor Belfort. I don’t know for sure whether it was because he fought Anderson Silva and Anderson is like a god down here, or whether the Brazilians are just like English people in that they can’t stand holier than thou attitudes. I’ll conduct a little research and let you know, but it is one of the two, I’m sure. As you can probably tell, I’m in full ‘fight mode’ now. I like to fight angry, to have a lot of emotion and ill-will towards my opponent. I fight better like that for some reason, and I am advanced enough in my career to be able to generate that mood for myself regardless of my opponent. I guess it’s a little strange, and maybe not psychologically healthy, but I take any little slight or comment by my opponent and magnify that 1000 times until I feel like my opponent is the worst example of humanity on Earth and the fight is very, very personal.”
Whether or not the Brazilian fans will actually be on Bisping’s side come fight night remains to be seen, but we are just over 48 hours away from finding out.
Who will you be rooting for in this one? Let’s hear it Penn nation!

Vitor has some serious striking speed. I think he has Bisping’s number. Dan Henderson exposed Bisping’s chin. I have Vitor by KO RD1.
Same here. Stann got him good too and both him and Hendo are some of the slowest MW’s ever. Vitor is literally twice as fast and has virtually the same power and precision with that right hand.
…….. you mean vitors left hand right? cuz hes a southpaw
yeah
If bisping can withstand the inevitable onslaught in rounds 1 & 2 I fancy him to break vitors will, plus I think bisping will try to take him down and really tire him out?
Bispings biggest flaw is getting caught with overhand rights,a punch not usually threw often by vitor, all that said I fancy mike bisping to get the W by unanimous decision.
I believe that Vitor will win by TKO in second round due to the questionability of Bispings chin. I do find it interesting that Bisping is so upset, when he is quite the trash talker/ slight-giving himself.
how is his chin suspect the only person to knock him out is Hendo and he (Hendo) has KO’ed manny people such as the Last Empoer Fedor
I’ll admit, I think Belfort’s striking will be Bisping’s downfall, but I would really really like to see The Count take this one. All of his fights are exciting, and he doesn’t fight to win. He goes into the fight looking to defeat his opponent.
A tune up for Anderson Silva? What the heck is that. One does not need a tune up for the Spider, one needs a complete overhaul and then more.
All I can tell anyone entering the ring with Mr. Silva is this…BE PREPARED.
Bisping by UD. Bisping will out work him every round.
Pretty Much. but I see Vitor getting submitted or KO’d in the later rounds.
bisping only beats badass people by decision. bisping by decision or vitor by ko in first or second round.
I think bisping has this one
Vitor, KO, 3:33 in the 2nd. Trust.
Oooo. 3:33 is half of the anitchrist, R u like half a devil and can see the future.
Well said Jesus
Thank you Jesus. And Peace and Good Will to you and ALL your loved ones!
Bisping is just trying to convince himself that he has a shot in this fight. I like Bisping, but this was the wrong fight to take. It sucks because after today Bisping will no longer be in consideration for the title and Weidman will be #1 by default (and the guy hasn’t fought anybody!). Bad fight for Bisping.
