Michael Bisping Issues Official Statement On TRT Use | UFC NEWS

As a middleweight fighter, Michael “The Count” Bisping has been the victim of TRT users.

He has lost at the hands of three very high profile fighters who use TRT. Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort.

He took to his personal website to release the following statement regarding the use of this approved performance enhancer and his recent loss at the hands of Vitor Belfort:

As some of you may know, I’ve just got back to Orange County from filming a movie in England. There have been dozens and dozens of interview requests and tweets about the recent news.

I’m back in England next week for the UFC on FUEL show, and right now all I really want to do is see my family, especially my daughter, who turned just turned 10 (happy birthday, Elle!). So, I wanted to do a short statement here and then move on to my fight with Alan Belcher, April 27th at UFC 159.

Here’s what I’ve got to say:

As I said right after the fight, I lost because I made a mistake and Vitor took advantage of it. It sucks. I don’t like it, but that was the result. I lost. Bottom line.

Over the past couple years, and even right before the fight, I have made my views on TRT very, very clear. I don’t feel that I need to go into depth about it again right now. All I have to add, about this specific instance, is that it is very disappointing that someone who was caught cheating with testosterone in the past, now gets to use testosterone legally. A well known side effect of steroids is that it reduces testosterone, so I don’t understand how it would make sense to then grant someone an exemption to then increase testosterone.

All that being said, I am not here to make excuses or cry over spilled milk. I fight in the best organization in the world, The UFC, and am very excited to work and earn a title fight, the right way. That process starts by whooping Alan Belcher’s ass at UFC 159 on Saturday, April 27th, live on PPV.

Thanks everyone for their support – can’t wait to spend some time with British UFC fans in London next week and I will be back, better than ever.

    TRT has got to go.

    • GET RID OF FITCH says:

Look up how bad Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt abused the TRT exemption and you will understand the HUGE Loopholes in the rules. The only time they are being tested is before the fight. That means anyone on LEGAL JUICE ie: TRT can shoot up as much as they please between fights and that is exactly what Marquardt and Sonnen were ( A R E ) doing. Unless the commissions implement random testing for TRT users they will continue to CHEAT. Sonnen had 16.9 times the amount of testosterone in his body in first Silva fight or the testosterone of 17 men. Marquardt was not only busted twice while on TRT he was busted for illegal steroids in 2005 and should have never been granted a trt exemption. NOONE is gaming (CHEATING) the system more than Nate “THE CHEAT Marquardt

  2. The Way Of The Dutchman says:

TRT is legal cheating. Athletic commissions have to take a stand against it and prohibit use.

  3. Mark says:

TRT isn’t that bad at all, the athletes that are on it are tested to see if they are above normal levels, people need to educate themselves on things like TRT before spouting off their opinion. Go listen to mike dolces podcast he gives a pretty good insight into it, TRT is not the problem you might think it is.

  4. T.J. says:

It’s unnatural. It has to go. The old dog is supposed to have a physical disadvantage. He makes up for it with experience, patience and wisdom. That’s the game and it’s been this way since the dawn of time.

  5. 123 says:

i dont have a clue what all theese substances are, they sound illegal though.. athletes should just compete naturally then that way no1 can say anything.. but i dont know
