Michael Bisping expects title shot with impressive win over Mark Munoz

Michael “The Count” Bisping (24-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) is hoping that a convincing win over fellow middleweight contender Mark Munoz (13-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) at “UFC Fight Night 30″ will result in a title shot opportunity.

The brash Brit explained to GiveMeSport.com that he’s already been told by the UFC that his upcoming bout has title implications:

“I’d love a fight with [Chris] Weidman. The UFC have told me that this fight has title implications. A good win over Munoz, if Weidman was to beat [Anderson] Silva again in the rematch there’s possibility of a match with Weidman, or maybe one of the top contenders. For me, in a perfect world, a win over Munoz and then I get to take the title off Weidman. That’s what I would really like.”

Bisping has been in this position before, but was unable to capitalize in his previous contender bouts against Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort.

Will the fourth time be the charm for “The Count” and do you feel that a win over Munoz on October 26 should result in a title fight for Bisping?

Let’s hear it Penn Nation!

If he doesn’t win his next fight he will probably never fight for a title.

    • Nate "THE ROID CHEAT" marquardt says:

Why is it Bisping’s losses never seem to count against him? Most UFC fighters have to win impressively at least 5 fights in a row but Bisping can win one or tow fights by backpeding/running away and he is always one fight away from a title shot. Bisping should have went to back of the line after getting KO’d by Belfort and NO WAY in hell does he deserve a title shot before Vitor or Jacare.

      • Nate "THE ROID CHEAT" Marquardt says:

Munoz knows no matter how bad he beats the hell out of Bisping that he will need a Ko or submission to get the win. After how bad Hamill was robbed after he beat trhe holy hell out of Bisping its quite obvious the UFC HIRES its own judges to make sure Bisping gets the nod whn he fights in Britain. Munoz by Ko round 3

To date Hamill/Bisping is still the most corrupt bulls’hit decision in UFC history and its was obviously fixed by the UFC. Only 2 American judges which were hired by UFC gave fight to Bisping while the lone British judge was the only honest judge who scored the fight 30-27 Hamill

,,,,,, who cares what he expects LOL.

Dana doesn’t need you anymore more michael.
^^. england isn’t that big of a deal in mma.

    • ^ says:

Wouldn’t that be why the ufc would need him? because MMA isn’t a big deal in england, so the UFC would want more english fighters with a name, so more people in england notice and support them, which grows the sport in england? which means more money for the UFC.

  3. 123 says:

There is alot of exciting fighters from England in MMA.. Brad Pickett, Ross Pearson, Dan Hardy, Paul Daley, Tom Watson & Jimi Manuwa.. Michael Bisping is 1 of the least exciting but most popular for some reason.

    • ^ says:

You realise Dan Hardy cant fight anymore, and paul Daley is not actually in the UFC although i suspect he will get let in down the road if he dose well enough, so we have pearson who is a good fighter but not really a draw and Pickett

  5. zack says:
