MFC 35 “Explosive Encounter” Results
Last night the Maximum Fighting Championships presented MFC 35: Explosive Encounter from the Mayfield Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The 9 fight card was headlined by a bout to determine the new MFC Middleweight Champion as Elvis Mutapcic faced Joseph Henle. Both men were coming off of impressive first round knockout victories at MFC 34 to earn their title shots.
The first two rounds were fairly close and just 1:45 into the third round, Mutapcic landed a leg kick to the right knee of Henle causing the former Ultimate Fighter contestant to fall to canvas in a heap of pain. The fight was stopped and Mutapcic was declared the winner by TKO.
Henle may have suffered a torn ACL and MCL which if true will keep him out a minimum of one year.
BJ Penn training partner Shane Nelson made his MFC and featherweight debut against Graham Spencer and lost via unanimous decision. Spencer was awarded all three rounds by all three judges.

Daniel Swain def. Matt Jelly by unanimous decision (29-28 x3)
Garrett Nyabakken def. Jesse Veltri by submission (armbar). Round 1, 1:24
Chase Degenhardt def. Chase Sherman by TKO (strikes). Round 2, 0:41
