Melvin Manhoef wants fight with Wanderlei Silva in UFC

There’s no rest for the wicked, and as far as Melvin Manhoef is concerned there will be “No Mercy” if he has his way and cuts a deal with the greatest MMA organization in the world. Manhoef has recently expressed his desire to fight for the UFC, and he already has an opponent in mind. Wanderlei Silva, one of the most exciting strikers the sport has to offer, and a former Pride Middleweight Champion holding the most knockouts in Pride history.

Some may say Silva has seen his best days, but he was one to disagree when he went out and knocked out Cung Le at UFC 139 and had an exciting, hard fought bout against Rich Franklin at UFC 147 back in June of 2012. If you were to say this fight has fireworks all over it, you’d be making an understatement.

Manhoef is not without some out standing credentials of his own. If this ‘hypothetical’ fight were to happen he’d be bringing in a 27-9 record with 25 of them coming by way of knock out. The UFC would just need to look at his past two fights to see the kind of damage he can do in their middleweight division. Being a Dutch style kickboxer with outstanding power, crisp punches, and thunderous kicks, Manhoef is a tall order for anyone looking to have a long career.

Back in 2008 he knocked out UFC heavyweight Mark Hunt in just 18 seconds to show the world that he can stand and bang with the biggest and best strikers in the world. Its safe to say any die hard fan would be looking forward to these events coming to fruition, but the ball is now in the UFC’s court to make such a dream match up become a reality.

Make it happen. This would be an extremely entertaining fight.

    • Thom says:

This would be an extremely short fight with Manhoef demolishing Wanderlei within a minute.

      • Thurgood Jenkins says:

You could very well be right. But Cung Le gave him a good beating, and he and weathered the storm and got the KO. Silva definitely isn’t who he used to be, but he still has some fight in him. And even if you’re right Thom, that minute would still be entertaining.

  2. The natural says:

Yes wanderlei was the baddest man aon planet at one time and it would be an honor to fight him even outside his prime

I have to go on record saying Dana’s really always been a douche and everybody needs to stand up to him now before its too late we should all no longer buy ppv until Dana can go without bashing any of past present and future fighters who built the UFC and stop taking credit for the UFC sucess. Please this is for the fighters it’s time someone stands up too him. Also time for someone to stand up for fighters in UFC and start a union to protect the fighters

    • Not You says:

I’ve seen this a few times now. Just gonna let you know, with out the Fertita’s and Dana. There would be no UFC for fighter to make money. The business would have crumbled back in the early 90s. The fighters don’t need you to stand up to big scary Dana White. So just stop it already.

  3. Jhonny Blaze says:

have to agree with Thom.Monhoef will decimate Wanderlei

  4. Thom says:

Yeah im going to protect multi millionaires like couture lmao. If there are no PPV buys how would that help the fighters? If the UFC is so bad then why does everyone stay there, even guys like Tito? Stop complaining you dont know what youre talking about

  5. The Way Of The Dutchman says:

Manhoef would be a great addition to the UFC roster. He has brutal stand-up, but unfortunately does lack a bit in the groundgame.

  6. Sasquatch says:

i want to get pounded up the azz Wandy style with no vaseline

  7. 757 says:

ASDF give it a break with the juice . The guy was 185 and trains constantly like the rest of these guys. He fought great that night and like it or not is a legend in the sport. Give up some props and let the juice talk go…………………..you sound dumb

  8. D-rak says:
