McMann Planning To ‘Dominate’ Rousey In Route To Title

“Actually, I kind was (shocked). Truthfully, I don’t know how it works. I never knew when I was going to get the shot. I’m just trying to be patient and keep getting better every day, so when it did come along, I was the best possible fighter I could be. It definitely was surprising, but I wanted it for quite awhile and to be the world champion was my original goal when I started. So, it was a welcome surprise.”

“My significant other and I both felt like this couldn’t have come at a better time. It feels very right to us. That’s what makes us very excited about it because if it had come off some kind of controversy or like, different fights have a different feel to them, some with a more negative perception. This one just feels like the perfect timing.”

“[Rousey] looked pretty comfortable on her feet. In my mind, there’s not one specific area that I want to win that I think is going to make a huge difference. I need to win in every area to beat the champion. If it goes to decision, it’s very hard to beat the champion, so you have to definitely dominate in every area. That’s how I feel.”

In a recent interview with ‘The MMA Hour‘ UFC 170 headliner and female bantamweight title challenger, Sarah McMann, discussed her upcoming title fight against Ronda Rousey.

All I read on other forums is how sarah hasn’t faced top competition like Ronda because it hasn’t two fights since she fought Kauffman. Let’s face it Ronda’s grappling which is high level high class is keeping her on top and will be for a while, the woman’s division is still growing and very shallow. Hopefully we can see Rousey vs cyborg one day

  2. Jessie Alverez says:

Alexis Davis was supposed to be next, Dana needs to stop protecting Ronda.

  3. Erik Michaud says:

First real test in the UFC for Ronda Rousey, IMO. Sara McMann is the only figther framed to give Rousey some challenge.

The fighter it takes to give Ronda a hard time is an undefeated wrestler, physically stronger (I think she is…) another olympic medalist (they face pressure we can’t even imagine) and a certified grappler with some striking abilities.

Who in the 135 lbs division has this profile? The answer is obvious… (And it is not Alexis Davis….)
