McGregor vs. Ogle Verbally Agreed for UFC on FS1: 1

| We caught word today that Irish fighting sensation Conor McGregor (13-2 MMA) has finally found an opponent for the upcoming UFC on FOX Sports 1 debut on August 17th in Boston. UFC officials sent out a release today stating that TUF veteran Andy Ogle (9-2 MMA) and McGregor have verbally agreed to go to battle on the UFC’s launch party on FOX’s new station. Bleacher Report first reported the news of the bout.
McGregor, a 24-year-old highly touted prospect, debuted in the UFC back at UFC on FUEL TV 9 when he put on an impressive show for the fans with a first round KO of Marcus Brimage. McGregor earned himself a hefty $60,000 bonus for “Knock-Out of the Night” and UFC president stated then that he would be making his next appearance at the debut FS1 show in Boston on August 17th. However, since then we have not heard anything regarding an opponent set for Conor.
Today, though, we heard that Ogle would be stepping up to face the young prospect. This is a great addition to the card and should be one of the most action packed fights of the night. Ogle, also 24-years-old, will likely enter the fight as the underdog but after defeating former top-contender Josh Grispi in his last fight at UFC on FUEL TV 7 he will be riding high coming into the fight. A win for Ogle on August 17th over McGregor could defiantly make him a top contender in the weight class.
It has not been announced where on the fight card this bout will be placed but for more updates and news regarding UFC on FOX Sports 1: 1 be sure to stay posted to BJPenn.com or click here
