Maynard Camp File Complaint About Clay Guida's Hair | UFC News
By Jamie McAllister
Gray Maynard’s camp has filed a complaint about Clay Guida’s hair going into the UFC on FX 4 main event. Maynard’s camp feel like Guida’s hair gives him an unfair advantage and reported the issue to the New Jersey Athletic Control Board (NJACB). Guida will now be forced to braid his hair going into the fight.
Nick Lembo of NJACB counsel commented on the complaint and says Guida’s camp were not happy about the request but will comply to avoid a hearing on the issue.
“He doesn’t want to do it, and I don’t believe he’s 100 percent happy about it, but he’s being very understanding and very cooperative about it and he agreed to it. Otherwise, if he said, ‘No, I’m not going to do that,’ we’d have to have a hearing on it and let both sides present their case and have a commissioner’s ruling on the issue.”
However when asked about the issue Maynard told Duane Finley that he could not care less about Guida’s hair and was not involved in the decision.
“Maynard also cleared up the Guida hair issue. Maynard Said he personally had nothing to do with it & doesn’t care about Guida’s hair. … Inquiry came from someone close to his camp who was looking into how commissions handle the issue.”

how ****in stupid!!
Right… he will probably fight better now because he can see the punches coming.
+ 1
So let me get this straight… Clay guidas long hair is an unfair advantage but trt is not?
clay will still have his hair, he just has to braid it… not really a valid comparison here.
Hahaha the athletic commissions are a joke! Allowing fighters to juice up to 6:1 t/e and at the same time stating long hair is an advantage? Hahahaha and here I thought they couldn’t get more crooked.
Do you understand English? The commission never stated that “long hair is an advantage”. The NJACB simply notified Guida’s camp of the “request”. Had Guida refused to comply, the commission would have held a hearing and subsequently made a ruling. It’s all there in black & white, dumbass.
someone needs a chill pill.
I think that the person who needs the “chill pill” is the person who overreacts to an article, based on poor reading comprehension, then continues his never-ending whining about t/e ratios.
+1 … All Xaninho does is complain about test ratios because he is Silvas boyfriend and 99% of his post are either about Test levels / trt, silva, and chael…. GET SLIVAS NUTS OUT OF YOUR MOUTH Xaninho!!!
And all you do is following me around and bitch about my comments. If you got a thing for me please move on I don’t swing that way waterboy.
Majestyk is pretty right
@Majestyk&nice,
The mere fact they would even consider to have a hearing about it is ludicrous already you dumb ****! Athletic commissions should worry about PED’s and their crazy judges decisions instead of some dude’s hairdo.
You two are qualified to marry eachother, you’re both suckass bitches!
Do you speak English? Where in the article did it say that the commission stated that “long hair is an advantage”? The NJACB simply notified Guida’s camp of the “request”. Had Guida refused to comply, the commission would have held a hearing, and made a subsequent ruling. It’s all there in black & white, dumbass!
Anyone ever tested the nevada athleltc commissionioners for banned substance.
Wtf what next?
Let the mind **** begin
This has to be the most moronic thing I’ve ever heard… wtf is going on in the heads of the athletic commission? Next we’ll hear that Roy’s bushy beard and magic mullet are unfair advantages, come the **** on!
What a crock
agreed. +1
Why’s it such a big deal if Gray doesn’t care about it? Like it should be his decision.
This must be why chuck Liddell was so good. It’s all in the Mohawk
It’s like the story of Sampson in the bible. At least he don’t have to cut it
****in’ Maynard cop-out bitch-ass move.. What do you mean somebody from my camp? Don’t u ****in’ pay that bitch lawyer??? Tell him to shut the **** up and fight….
watch clay knock out gray lol
Clay will obey the ruling and braid his hair but he said he will not paint his finger and toe nails and wear lipstick if Maynard makes him his bitch in the fight.
But on a side note at my gym we did make one guy braid his hair because when we would roll and he was in top position his hair would be soaked with sweat and it would drip into our faces and eyes. Which is some sick crap
going with the urijah faber braids so far seems to always bring success. guida sucks, but with braids, ill bet my house on him!
Maynard is a bitch the last thing he should be consened about is guidas hair he should be consened about keeping a pace like clay without getting tired Maynard is a bitch.
I actually agree with this. I think he should have to braid his hair. He is known for his constant gnp and wrestling. In his past few fights all I have noticed is when he is on top he always is going forehead to forehead rubbing his hair all in the guy on bottoms face then postures up real fast to gnp.. this can be a huge distraction and when he has someone against the cage with all that hair in their face while rubbing foreheads, it is almost impossible to see where anything is coming from. Also, it has to get realllllyyyy distracting and maybe even making the opponents skin irritated due to all the wrestling and head rubbing he does… I’m just saying that having to braid your hair isn;t a big deal. ITS A FIGHT NOT A FASHION SHOW!!
You wearing ponytails, bitchass mother****er?
the NSAC sucks; this is the same commission that made a big fuss over Diaz’s weed situation and gave Bradley a win last saturday…
Youre all are retards! First of all it said NEW JERSEY not NEVADA ,second it also said he requested it there was no ruling. Guida just agrees to do it. Can you retards not read?
All i gotta say is half yall clowns on this site an many others are simply internet trolls .. Claiming to know everything bout mma downgrading fighters and arguing over bullshit .. To the ones that keep it real know their place and stay on topic . Yall are dope.. To the rest of you get ****ed Trolls
THIS.
Maybe they should complain about Ebersole’s chest arrow hair too. And maybe Gaudinot’s green hair, and McKenzy’s Captain Margan hair… Shit lets start complaining that guys with bald heads and shaved heads have an unfair advantage because they can slip out of grappling techniques better than guys with hair…
**** I’m glad they finally made that ****en caveman do something about that nasty hair
good point about baldies.
This is stupid…they must really be afraid of Guida if his hair is an issue. Fight or gtfo, unfair advantage….what a bunch of pussies. If you are afraid of someones hair you are in the wrong damn sport.
Hilarious. Next they will outlaw the Cris Leben style finger adn toenailslll
Fighting with long hair sucks, kills peripheral vision. On the other hand, a bouncing head of hair might obscure the head as a target. I wonder if Big Country’s beard makes it harder to chin him….
Have the hearing , make him look like a bitch lol
Should your company has brick-and-mortar locations, make sure you are the names of the locations in links and titles about those stores. This will help enhance the probability of being found every time a user performs a location-specific search. You might be much more likely to be the very best of the business in your city or state than globally, and so you achieve greater rankings in local searches.
