Max Holloway Looking To Start 2014 With A Bang At UFC Fight Night 34

At 22, Max Holloway is the fourth youngest member of the UFC roster. After spending 2013 winless after two consecutive decision losses to Dennis Bermudez and Conor McGregor, Holloway is looking to rebound with a victory over his opponent Will Chope at UFC Fight Night 34.

Holloway is 3-3, with his three losses coming in his UFC career against McGregor, Bermudez, and Dustin Poirier, who Holloway fought in his UFC debut.

With only three losses in his MMA career, and those defeats coming against high-level competition, Holloway feels he has the potential to be championship level, but he needs to take it slow.

Holloway recently spoke to MMAjunkie radio and said
“I’m here to win. I want to win. I don’t want to be a .500 fighter in the UFC.”

“I want to be known as one of the greatest when my career is up,” he said. As for why he faltered in 2013? “I was trying to rush things. I keep forgetting that I’m only 22-years-old. I just need to slow things down and take little baby steps,” Holloway said.

Holloway looks to run through Chope tomorrow in Singapore and start 2014 off in a good way.

“I’m going through a tough time right now, but that was last year, and this is the first card of 2014,” he said. “I’m trying to start the year off with a bang.”
