Matt Serra Not Hanging Them Up, Just Waiting For Right Return | UFC NEWS
By Jamie McAllister
Matt Serra comments while on the MMAHour.
Serra comments on a number of things at the top of the list his potential return to the octagon.
When asked if we would see him compete inside the octagon again.
“I’m going to say if I have to lean one way I’m definitely going to say you’re going to see me again,”
“I really got no answers for you as far as when and who and all that kind of stuff,”
“I really think it’s so official just to say you’re done. Because you never know how you’re going to feel the next day, you’re never going to know if something comes up and excites you. But right now I’ve got my plate full.”
Serra comments on his coaching responsibilities and has special praise for Al Iaquinta who competes this weekend against Mike Chiesa in the final of The Ultimate Fighter Live.
“It’s not about me. It’s about these young kids coming up. Look at Al. What is he, 25, 24 [years old]?,” Serra asks. “He’s a young kid and I’m telling you. You gotta be impressed with that kid. There’s not one fight where you could say one guy he face in [the TUF: Live competition] where you’re ‘alright, he’s got a gimme to the next round’. That guy fought some studs on that show.”
“Not only did he get tough opponents,” Serra continues, “but he looked better each fight. The kid looked great.”
“He’s always been a great kid. He’s a humble kid and I hope he gets all the success in the world because he’ll be able to handle it,”

Serra vs Rumble
The battle of the biggest welterweights in UFC history. 200+ lb welterweights!!!
The UBER-Rumbleweight championship!!!!!
Serra is just weighting for Rumble to return, then this fight will happen, mark my words.
Idk about that one….
ahahha what an idiot…serra was a light weight befor…he is not that big for ww…not even near the bigggesst…idiot
I guess you haven’t seen any pics of Matt Serra lately.
Let’s just say he’s gonna have to skip a whole lot of pasta dinners to make it anywhere near welterweight…. and lightweight… pssshht, yeah he fought there a long time ago, but he weighs over 200 now.
Nice try Jones, ya dingleberry.

BJ Penn vs Serra rematch!! Bj penn by whatever he wants, probably a bloody rear naked choke a la joe “crybaby” stevenson
Serra is the man! Wouldn’t mind seeing him vs Hughes for the last time
Actually Serra is pushing 225 these days so i doubt we will ever see him fight at WW again. Sad because he is a natural LW. Funny some of GSP’s biggest wins and losses have been against Lightweights but then GSP won’t even fight anyone 10-15 lbs under his walk around weight of 195-200.No different than Fitch who started his career at LHW and got smashed and then again at 185 he got smashed again.
matt serra versus brian ebersole lol (that’s a fight that ebersole was asking for a while back too)
