Matt Hughes vs. Josh Koscheck Official For UFC 135

With the ever so common injury bug taking hold of its latest victim in Diego Sanchez, the UFC has now booked a suitable replacement for the return of Matt Hughes at UFC 135.
In the place of Sanchez comes AKA welterweight fighter, Josh Koscheck, who takes the fight on just two weeks notice.
“UFC 135: Jones vs. Rampage” is set to take place on September 24 live on pay-per-view from Denver’s Pepsi Center. The card features a light-heavyweight title fight in its main event between champion, Jon Jones and challenger “Rampage” Jackson.
Koscheck is coming off of a long layoff due to a broken orbital bone delivered at the hands of division champ, Georges St. Pierre. He was expected to return later this year in the UFC’s middleweight division. However now that the slot to take on former champion, Matt Hughes, has become vacant he will return to action sooner than expected and in a division lower than he originally intended.

Class vs Ass…whoop that ass Hughes. WAR HUGHES WAR!!!!
One love from the city of “NO”…central cali. Goat rope that clown country boy!!!
C’mon Mikey, their amigos bro, chillax…visit the website more, I just saw some cool pics of BJ on Hughes’ site….
I’ll take Kos on this one, with BJ’s quick KO and Kos’ split decision win, the former champ will be forced to retire…..let the trilogy KO by Baby J be the spiral downward for hughes!!!!
PENN NATION!!!!!!!
you know they’re friend now, right? I’m sure BJ would dislike this comment.
I’m pretty sure you’re right about BJ not liking that comment. He recently went to Matt’s home town to help with training. The pics are everywhere…
Why wish the end on one of the best welterweights of all time man? BJ must think highly of him — so much that he had invited him to help train for for the Fitch fight. I think we can all agree BJ’s wrestling was the sharpest ever in the Fitch fight.
Don’t count Hughes out just yet. Granted, Koscheck has that power right hook, and if it connects it could be lights out, but I believe Matt will weather the storm and win the fight.
It would be a great fight. both coming off a loss.
I doubt that Hughes will win. He is past his prime and he is fighting a man in his prime who is better rounded. Kos and Hughes may have equal wrestling if that.
Kos walks away with this victory, probably easily. Not as easy as Penn but probably pretty close. I would rather see Hughes VS Story.
Hey Random Dummy, People just recently said Minotauro was past his prime too.
and those people are correct. It doesn’t mean that a fighter can’t ever win a fight when they are past their prime.

Hey dude, it looks like their speaking english pretty well to me? You’re making the same point that Geoffree just made… and making fun of him for it? Dumbass
I think people are underestimating Matt Hughes on this one. Ok, so he doesn’t have the best chin he did when he was 27, I’d say that’s a safe assumption. But anybody can get hit on that button and get shut off. And Koscheck has a few knockouts but he fights like Rashad Evans does. Which is a little bit boring if you ask me. I say if Matt gets top position he gets an easy submission
hughs is still in his prime baby! Gsp made him look weak, and i think hughs has got this one all the way! tho theres still a fighters chance for…..whats his name?
Yeah I wouldn’t say hes out of his prime at all…losing to BJ and Gsp is nothing for fans to start speculating retirement about. Kos tho is just an animal.
Sorry but Hughes stand no chance here.
Striking – Kos
Wrestling – Kos
JJ – Kos
Idk about JJ I think matt has got him all day with subs! Everything else look about right though.
Doubt Hughes has the edge in submissions. Kos’s head jiu jitsu coach is Dave Camarillo
doesnt matter who his coach is lol hughes will submit kos
+1 lolz
Royce Gracie had his father for his coach and that didnt help him one bit in his match with Hughes.
ok bud….hughes is not even a white belt LOL
i see a wrestling match in the works. kos may not wanna chance gettin his orbital hit again.
Experience – Hughes
MMA IQ – Hughes
Mental Fortitude – Hughes
It’s going to be closer than you think. There’s a reason he is still around.
Hughes is a warrior and a legend, but I can’t see him winning this fight unless he pulls a slick sub from the bottom or catches Kos with a wild haymaker.
We really don’t know what hughes has up his sleeves especially training w Bj. Hughes has awesome wrestling and strength, hopefully Bj helped him w striking and TDD. Kos does have an edge but counting Hughes out would be foolish! You never know Hughes might come out like Paulo and send Kos to the dirt.
I highly agree Chart underestimating a HOF fighter, is completely stupid and uneducated…
I am not saying HUGHS will win, but he can win..and I do believe Kos thinks Hughs is washed up and Kos will come in too overconfident…which can be his downfall..
As much as i dislike Kos, Kos wins this fight hands down. This will retire Hughes.
Yo i’m willing to take any bets right now if you think Kos will lose to Matt.
