Masvidal: "I'm going to smash Melendez"
“I hope people overlook me. I’ve been paying my dues for a while, beating ranked guys. But I really don’t care. I’m gonna smash Gilbert, get a nice paycheque and then onto the next one…”
In an interview with bleacherreport.com, the Strikeforce lightweight number one contender goes on record and states that he will “smash” current champion, Gilbert Melendez.
With the two scheduled to face off on December 17, many people have overlooked the fact that Masvidal is in the wings, waiting to spoil the party for Gilbert Melendez, who is expected to go to the UFC after this fight.
Should Masvidal make good on his promise, it will more than likely be the opportunity of a lifetime for the ATT fighter as it’s a safe bet that he would be ushered straight to the UFC and possibly enter the title picture for a much discussed unification bout.

I hope he whoops his ass but every interview I hear bout this fight there all sayin melendez shld walk thru him. I mean I guess that makes sense he’s ranked 30th in lw division and Gil always gets spoon feed to make him look good another SF fight nobody cares to c unless Gil loses
