Masvidal Books Green As Next Opponent For Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir | MMA NEWS

Strikeforce officials have put together an interesting lightweight bout for November’s “Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir” event.
Both Jorge Masvidal and Bobby Green have agreed to square off in what will likely be the evening’s main card on Showtime.
“Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir” is set to take place from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City on November 3. The events main card will air on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET.
Masvidal is one of the promotions top lightweight fighters, he was able to make it through five-straight rounds with division champ Gilbert Melendez but the Miami based fighter fell short for the first time in four contests. He last saw action in July with a win over Justin Wilcox.
Green brings a four-fight win streak into the bout and will look to make the Strikeforce main card for the first time with the promotion.
So far the Strikeforce card looks as follows:
Daniel Cormier vs. Frank Mir
Champ Luke Rockhold vs. Lorenz Larkin (for middleweight title)
Bobby Green vs. Jorge Masvidal
Liz Carmouche vs. Sara McMann
