Martins, Larsen expect to be added to UFC on FX 8 | UFC News
May’s UFC on FX 8 event just added another matchup.
Brazil’s Lucas Martins will face Jeremy Larsen in a lightweight showdown, several sources are reporting.
UFC executives have yet to make an official announcement, but the proposed bout represents the 13th contest for the fight card.
Ataquetotal.com first reported the contest and Tatame.com has since confirmed the booking with additional sources.
The main event of UFC on FX 8 features Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold and it will take place May 18, likely at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul. The event’s main card airs on FX following prelims on FUEL TV and Facebook.
Martins is a decorated striker and was undefeated in MMA until this past January’s UFC on FX 7. That is where fellow striker Edson Barboza pounded him out in the first round.
Larsen is a former cast member on “The Ultimate Fighter 15.” He made his official UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale and suffered a first-round TKO loss to Joe Proctor. He is coming off of loses to Efrain Escudero and Edgar Garcia.
