Mark Munoz Wants To Return In February, Calls For Weidman Rematch | UFC NEWS

“I’m planing to come back as soon as possible. I do have an injury here, but I’m not going to let it stop me. This is perspective for me. I’ve had kind of a tough year this year with having an elbow injury and coming back from surgery and then rushing back into a fight which probably I could have taken a little bit more time off, and then, sustaining this injury. Suffice to say, I’ve learned a lot. It wasn’t quite me in that last fight. I’m going to redeem myself with a fight coming up, whoever I fight. I fought a lot of times in two years, I think that would have been my eighth fights in two years. And I’m very active so, I’m just kind of going to take it easy. This is my body’s way of telling me. It was like camp, after camp, after camp. I was fighting every three, four months. I’m going to take some time off and get back into it and just be a raging bull when I get back in the cage again. I’m planning probably around February or so, we’ll see how my body heals up.”

“I’d like to have a rematch with Weidman, I’d like to fight Bisping. There’s a lot of guys out there. The fact of the matter is, I want a fight that’d get me back on track to becoming a world champ. I definitely want to redeem myself on my last performance and show people that I’m a man that learns from his mistakes. And for me, champions aren’t measured by how many wins they have, but how they pick themselves after a loss. That’s the true meaning of a champion and that’s what I want to show.”

In a recent interview with The MMA Fight Corner, top UFC middleweight Mark Munoz discussed his future in the sport, including when he would like to return to action and who he would like to face!

After getting destroyed by Chris Weidman in his last bout is anyone interested in seeing a 100% Mark Munoz try at it again?

  1. Pkq says:

Why would he get the rematch right away when he got beat so bad? Maybe if he worked his way back up to contention, but weidman fumed him up and that deserves no rematch

  2. DMAC says:

Fact of the matter is Weidman gave you the little brother treatment on the ground then polished you off in style with the elbow. If I’m not mistaken rematches are granted for close fights not guys on the receiving end of a highlight finish.

  3. Munoz should fight stann…they are both coming off losses and would gauge if munoz deserves his ranking and deserves to be near the top 5 or even in the top ten IMO.

  4. Goddamn site gave me someone’s sign in info again ffs. I am not Scotty… I am Brendan Sampson…. You guys really need to fix this shit…. It’s getting ridiculous… It’s been this way for months now. You guys do realize that you’re giving out people’s email addresses to complete strangers right…that’s a start for identity theft right there fellas… I am not writing comments till this bullshit gets fixed. Get on the ball guys…this is just pathetic.

  5. ChaelsSONnen says:

On to bigger and better things for Weidman, no need to fight Munoz again.

  6. 123 says:

i wanna see.. Chris Weidman vs Jake Shields, Michael Bisping vs Alan Belcher, Mark Munoz vs Brian Stann, Vitor Belfort vs Hector Lombard & Yushin Okami vs Rich Franklin.. little middleweight tournament.

    • mean170 says:

I like this idea. Vitor vs Franklin would be the Title Fight of this little scenario. How many title defenses would Rich have if Anderson never came along???

  7. punchkick says:

what happened to muñoz fighting lombard?

  8. ballsackface says:

hes had 5 fights in 2 years, stupid cunt

  9. ohplease says:

cmon bro enuff…..no u will not fite bisping or weidman ull probably get jake shields or ed herman or maby even vitor or loser of okami vs belcher

  10. Dana is Greedy says:

Sorry Munoz but you got owned…Weidman vs Shields would be interesting just for the fact Jake is hard to finish and is a beast on the ground…Munoz needs to work on something other then ground and pound in order to step it up..

  11. Josiah says:

munoz was definitely owned by weidman, i was actually thinking that he would have an edge on the ground because of his great wrestling background but munoz definitely disappointed me there. munoz should work more on his boxing and footwork and a little bjj so that he’d be more comfortable on his back. and bisping will be a bad matchup for you. stann would be great!
