Mark Munoz | TRT Is Cheating

“It’s cheating. I think it’s cheating. I think anything that’s synthetic that you put in your body is cheating. Get it from food, get it from training. That stuff jacks you up when you’re done. For me, I’m a family man, I have kids, I have a wife and I want to be there for them at the end. I think when you take PEDs or anything like that, it cuts your life short. When it becomes like that, it’s almost hedonistic. It’s not a sport anymore. It becomes more than a sport and it shouldn’t be like that.

There’s more important things in your life than that. I frown upon that, I don’t like to ever see it but the truth is it is present. You can’t hide it because it comes out. But then again I can stand in front of you 100-percent saying that I’ve never taken a drug in my life. And I’m going to keep doing that, and I’m going to win like that. If people think I’m on drugs or PEDs or whatever, come train with me. I’ll show you my drugs. There’s no substitution for hard work.”

    Nuff said!

  3. DMAC says:

He still sucks but I feel him though..

    • Rod says:

No way, I think if that fight with sonnen happened, he would be fighting silva, not sonnen.. Sonnen even said it, he’s trained with munoz and could never beat him.. I think munoz is like sonnen, just hasn’t been able to show it yet (Not to mention no crazy testosterone levels) His style would be perfect to beat anderson silva.. The way chael did the first fight, but not as careless and without the TRT. lol. Not to mention, for someone who sucks, he beat up chris leben pretty good in his last fight..

  4. jkljk says:

    Much respect for mark munoz

  5. CanILive says:

He should word It better when he states hes never done drugs

  6. Xaninho says:

Agree 100%. TRT is a loophole used to juice .

  7. Zetoe R10 says:

what about foods pumped with synthetic bullshit?
does that mean that every single fighter should be forced to eat an all natural, organic diet?

    • mean170 says:

Eating chicken is exactly like taking TRT.

    • Rod says:

Foods pumped with synthetic crap are usually not for the benefit of anyone.. lol.. and if it will somehow benefit the fighter, i wouldn’t doubt that anything past caffeine would be caught if tested.. It was once mentioned that Alistair Overeem eats horse meat, which elevates levels.. I don’t know if that is true or not, but if so, that would be one example (with the fact that he just got caught)..

  8. matt says:

hell yeah mark munoz, very well said!

  9. avery says:

So if he was i diabetic one shouldnt use insulin? Same thing. Im 35 years old and have been on TRT for 2 years. My quality of life is much better now. Its NOT about getting jacked, its about feeling NORMAL again. It does so much more than just help someone in the gym. The only way TRT is gonna get you jacked is if you up your dose on your own. Get a clue people

    • Joe Bidden says:

      Yeah, cause you fight, eh?

He’s talking about in the sport, numbnut. Fighters use it to bring them back to what they were in their prime. Cheating. You’re not competing in a sport. This isn’t directed toward Joe Blow, idiot.

    • Xaninho says:

No it’s NOT the same thing.

If you’re 35 and elevate your testosterone to the testosterone levels of a 25 yo old it’s CHEATING! It’s the normal natural thing for humans to start degrading slowly after their 30’s.

Feeling normal like when you were 25 or like how a normal 35 yo should feel?

And here you are telling others to get a clue….smh.

  10. derrick says:

This is why Sonnen should have been released from the UFC. But, Dana White thinks it’s necessary to release one fighter because he believes him to be a pathetic fighter and another fighter because of a cheapshot…

    Something is very wrong.

  11. Jake says:

I would like to think that he isn’t calling out Chael Sonnen by that statment — but it kinda sounds like it. Am I wrong? I mean, Chael has been the only situation in the last couple years (correct me if I’m wrong) where TRT was a big deal. At any rate, I honestly believe Chael was using TRT correctly (at the direction of his doctors) and it was just unfortunate that he didn’t file the right paperwork.

    • toneloc24 says:

If he was using it correctly his levels wouldn’t have been 16:1, higher than Overeems levels.

    • Xaninho says:

lol dude…you a believer huh? If he would have followed normal procedure his levels would be 4:1 cause that’s what’s considered normal for the average male. The NSAC accepts 6:1, because athletes can have a higher level in some cases.

Now Sonnen had 16:1, you honestly believe that was a mistake?

  12. K.O.kapow! says:

juicing is cheating, plain and simple! but aren’t recovery drinks, and protein shakes made…synthetically lol? if he’s saying he doesnt use anything like that, this guy is a beast mode boss!!

  13. steve snider says:

Uneducated. TRT is not cheating. synthetic or not, it doesnt matter. If you’re within the natural limits you have no more advantage than the guy with naturally high testosterone levels. Its only cheating if you use so much that your levels are higher than a normal man’s testosterone limits. Some peoples bodies don’t produce enough testosterone naturally. They shouldn’t be punished due to this.

    • toneloc24 says:

Well I’m not naturally as tall as Jon Jones so I shouldn’t be punished because of that. I should be able to have surgery and add inches of synthetic bone to my arms and legs. As long as I’m.not taller than a normal mans height and reach then its ok right?

    • Xaninho says:

So the 40 year old Dan henderson walking around with the testosterone levels of a 25 year old is acceptable?

And what about guys with one arm? Hey let’s even the score and get him a bionic arm. It’s only fair right? Damn cheekbone and forehead is fractured beyond repair, this could cause him his career you know what? enforce his total face structure with an alloy compound, it’s only fair!

It’s ok if it doesn’t give an advantage, but they want to turn back time and that isn’t fair.

    • James says:

If fighters on TRT were within natural levels we wouldn’t be having this discussion…

  14. James says:

I do believe that Mark and Chael are training parnters, so I don’t think he is calling out Chael. But, I do believe he is saying he is better than everyone else because he doesn’t use anything to help his performance. Just wait until he gets a little older, then will see.

  15. Tyrone says:

    amen.
    well said.

  16. Chael Sonnen medium rare steak says:

Everybody use TRT, its stupid to say i never use PEDs
