Machida Looking For Third Shogun Fight & Potentially Coaching TUF Against His Rival

“It is a process of restarting and I know that it never is easy to climb up again. I’m looking for my evolution in the training, to improve even more. Since I arrived in UFC, I am here to fight for the belt and be on the top. I will have much work ahead but let’s see how things go,”

“I think yeah it would be a good time for the third bout with Shogun but, who knows? This duel might be kept aside for a bigger stuff, a reality show… It would sell even more and I think this fight would have a heavier appeal”

“I understand Dan Henderson’s position. We are in a sport in which there is respect and professionalism. I know he is in the search for the title and I guess he did not want to risk it in this moment of his career and miss the this opportunity, so is understandable”

Lyoto Machida talks about his future as well as a potential third fight with Shogun & Dan Henderson’s current position in the division in an interview with UOL Esporte.

Machida angling for a third bout against Shogun ? Both men coming off losses to Jon Jones and Dan Henderson respectively the fight makes sense.

Would you like to see Machida vs Shogun three and a potential season of The Ultimate Fighter with them as coaches ?

  1. James says:

You really need to source your stuff instead of just stealing it.

  2. Faaris Sheikh says:

I’d love to see a trilogy! Shogun is my favourite fighters he comes into finish fights! 18 out of his 20 fights have been via TKO/KO or Sumbission. Also they both have something to prove as they are both comming of loses, This fight will be certainly entertaining

  3. Michael says:

Thatd be a good setup for TUF Brazil 2

  4. Dog chapman says:

Machida is gonna smash shogun bruddah

  5. Machida fan but WAR SHOGUN !!

  6. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

I want Machida to fight Gustaffson but I’d watch that TUF. Shogun is gonna bust him again.

  7. Faaris Sheikh says:

    I was just thinking…
What do you guys think of these fights
    Machida VS Gustaffson
    Shogun VS Bader

    • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Shogun would make Bader look like a fool but out of the up and comer/young talent in the lhw division, I think Bader is the most well rounded between Gus, Davis and himself.

      • Faaris Sheikh says:

I agree, until we see a good ground game till gustaffson Bader will be more versatile then all 3 of them. Soon Jones will have to give up his title and go HW will be interesting to see how the LWH roles out in the future

        • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Soon like 3-4 years from now. He doesn’t seem to have any problems cutting weight. I really want to know how Anderson Silva cuts from 220 to 185. That’s unreal. LOL

  8. Allan Paulino says:

    Oh yeah.
TUF Brasil II with Shogun vs Machida like coaches… That’s really awesome.
Shogun and Machida will be ever two top contenders in the sport & Shogun have much more skills to be a champ again.
