Lyoto Machida Back Under UFC Contract With Signing Of New Deal

Unbeknownst to many, former UFC light-heavyweight champion, Lyoto Machida completed the last bout on his contract when he knocked out Mark Munoz in the first round of their recent fight.

I even have it on good authority that he toyed with free agency and took offers from other popular MMA promotions.

In a recent tweet sent out by his manager, Ed Soares, Machida opted to stay with the world’s leading MMA promotion and as evidenced by the photo has signed a new deal with The Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The fuck would he do elsewhere? It’s funny that guys are talking so much about going elsewhere these days… It’s just empty talk to try and get more money… It probably works though, congrats regardless.

Yeah it’s a part of negotiations. Before I started my own business I would mention I already had offers the times I had a job interview. Sometimes it was true and sometimes I lied to give them the feeling they had to act quickly and offer me more to get me on board.
It’s human to want what others want even employees. Kinda like when people break up because they basically hate eachother and when one of them moves on with someone else the other one gets jealous.

Glad to hear Machida is a business man. I’m sure Edd knows what Lyoto is worth to say the least. Lyoto would make a great champion for a different company and I’m sure would have a decent draw.
