Lombard Doesn’t Think The UFC Is Willing To Give Him A Shot At Anderson Silva | UFC NEWS
“Let’s cut the bullshit, let’s be honest, they won’t give me Anderson Silva. We have to be realistic and talk about things that might happen. I’ve got to take one fight at a time and one-by-one I can take them out and by the end of the year people are going to say he deserves the title shot. I want it to just be my hard work. I want people to say that no one deserves the title more than him. I just don’t want to fight guys that they say, ‘Oh that was a easy match-up for him.’ I want to fight the hardest match-up. I wish they (the UFC) could go now and make a pool of the toughest guys at 84kg that no one wants to fight and I want to fight that guy. I want to fight who the UFC and the people believe is the toughest guy out there. Not many people want to fight Palhares. Before we had the fight people were saying: ‘Hector is gone, Palhares is taking Hector’s leg back to Brazil.’ I would like to fight Chris Weidman, he’s a big name. I’ve been asking for (Yushin) Okami, I’ve been asking for Okami but they (UFC) won’t give him to me because of his chin. Okami has no chin, he can’t cop the punches. And where’s Jake Shields? He’s been around forever, he beat Dan Henderson. Those are the guys I want to fight.”
Top middleweight fighter, Hector Lombard, tells News.com.au that he isn’t getting his hopes up for a title shot anytime in the near future. It’s because of this that he simply wants the toughest competition the UFC can drum up for him.

But yeah, atleast he’s taking it one fight at a time. No sense in rushing things and doing a lot of talking like Weidman is, calling out Anderson etc. Continue to fight and beat the best and eventually you’ll work your way up there.

He wants Anderson? He’s 1-1 with a loss to Tim Boetsch. Then look at his record a 25 fight unbeaten streak that houses a who’s who of failures, drop outs, and unknowns. In his own words “let’s cut the BS.” win some fights over some actual competition then maybe you can start complaining about not getting Silva. Win and win impressively then you can complain, but he hasn’t. He couldn’t even keep his streak going. Split decision or not it’s a loss. Lose and, unless your hugging uncle Dana’s nuts, you’re at least a year of solid wins from being considered for Silva.
You need to learn how to read. He isn’t complaining at all, so what are you bitching about?

You should read more then the first sentence before commenting… he’s not complaining about not getting to fight Silva. He said he wants to fight the toughest guys in the division and earn his title shot. He’s not the type of guy to “talk” his way into a shot, he’ll fight his way there and earn the respect of the UFC fans(MMA fans already do) first and get them to ask for him.
right now he doesnt deserve to face anderson, bottom line he has to get atleast 3-4 straight and all dominant and all in his favor then ufc heads will probably considerate

Fights arent always determined based on who deserves it or not. Diaz/GSP? Bonnar/Anderson? Chael/Jones? And the textbook “3-4 solid wins” reply isn’t even worth posting. No shit he needs a few wins to “deserve” it. Truth is, MW is relatively thin. No one in the division can sustain a 3-4 fight streak outside of Weidman, and Anderson is busy dicking around doing whatever Anderson does. Lombard was on a 50 fight win streak and left Bellator as a title holder. They’ve given guys title shots for similar situations (ie Diaz pre-missed press conference).

An olympic Judo competitor and I’ve seen him train wrestling at a gym that I was at for rugby, hes a good fighter, hard to take down. I respect him , although I didn’t always, but I felt he should of ended Boestch easily, he would of got himself up there alot quicker. He should have no problems with the other fighters, hes a bit flat footed for Anderson Silva though, not sure he has much of a chance. Strong attitude, hope he takes on the top competitors, I thought he was already lined up to fight Okami? Good fight that will be.

I cant stand the way everyone has just jumped on lombard for the boestch fight, people only give lombard shit for that fight and not boestch. Boestch is the one that avoided engaging and ran from him the whole time. And i still think he should have got the decision over boestch because he was the aggressor and the guy going forward, neither did more damage then the other so therefore i believe the guy that dictates the fight wins it.
It has been spoken about for ages how everybody gets the jitters in their first ufc fight and hector is no exception. I think the guy has a lot to offer and i wish he got into the ufc a long time ago because he is legit!!!!
