Lil Nog Out, Thiago Silva Set To Return Against Gustafsson In Sweden

The injury bug has slayed its latest main event victim. This time in the form of Antonio Rogerio Noguira, who was scheduled to face Alexander Gustafsson in Sweden.
The extent of his injury and cause is currently unknown.
In his place comes fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva.
UFC on FUEL TV 2 is set to take place on April 14 from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. In the main event Thiago Silva will return from his yearlong suspension against the fast rising Alexander Gustafsson.
Thiago Silva last fought back at UFC 125 in January of last year. In the bout Silva was relentless with takedowns and displayed brutal ground and pound that disfigured Brandon Vera and got him ejected from the UFC.
However in the post-fight aftermath the Nevada State Athletic Commission found that Silva had tampered with his urine sample meant for drug screening and as a result he was suspended for a year and his victory turned into a no-contest.
Silva has not fought since his controversial no-contest against Brandon Vera and come fight time will be out nearly 1.5 years.
Gustafsson is one of the light-heavyweight division’s top prospects. He last saw action at UFC 141 taking out MMA veteran Vladimir Matyushenko via KO in the very first round. The win marked his fourth straight in the UFC, all of which have come via some form of stoppage. His lone loss as a pro- came at the hands of Phil Davis in his UFC debut.

I think its a better fight. Hope gustaffsson beats his ass.
damn.. well gustafsson should be able to beat silva
it just got a whole lot tougher for Gustaffson,Thiagos a beast!
a way bigger step up in competition if you ask me; definitely if you look at what’s on paper.
MMA fighters need to start drinking milk & eating their wheaties, there are way too many injuries.
I like how they put Thiago Alves in the 4th paragraph
ok buddy,,,whzt are u talking about
Sad face that was an awesome matchup regardless i still think Gustafsson wins
I think this is a better matchup for Alexander, the only thing that I was worreied about when he was going to face nog was that he might end up in a submission. NOW, however he is fighting a agressive stand up dude and I know, he’s a black belt too, but i don’t see him tapping Alex. I think Alexander will be able to pick this guy apart and probably outwrestle him aswell. Oh and remember, Alexander fights at home, Thiago has not fought for over 14 months!
nog pussed out once he realized there was nothing he could do to beat this guy.
Thiago is gonna try did to hold him down like he did Vera. Better hope he cycled off the roids this time. Or atleast is smart enough to use human piss. I lost all respect for Silva when he showed hes a cheater and a ****ing moron
+100… Lil Nog struggled wiv jason brilz, in fact, if I rememba correctly, Brilz won imo, judges n their BS decisions, Nog wz out struck in the stand up n wz always on d bk foot, he neva had brilz in trouble, Gustafsson’s striking n footwrk is MUCH betta than Brilz, I wz lookin 4ward 2 seein lil Nog eat sum humble pie (after eatin sum vicious gnp lol) oh well, looks lyk silva’s gonna take the beatin 4 him lmao
Fan of Gus and Thiago.. May the best man win. Going to a be a great fight.
The Phil Davies fight wasnt Gustafssons debut. It was against Jared Hamman. Tuohg fight for Gustafsson, but he should still take it by mauling!
“The injury bug has SLAYED its latest main event victim.”
So he died?
funnny thee commission always knows when guyus use fake piss or are on roids but they let them figt then after the fight they punish them,,,u can fight on any drug you want,,,but after the fight u are in shit
Its true to he does paint a different picture of himself, the fact that he’s cocky is fine, but not when he acts all humble an trys to push a squeeky clean image of himself
Gustafsson did not loose in his ufc deput, he won that fight by tko he only kost his second fight. That is his only loss in his MMA carrier!
