By Jamie McAllister
The UFC Lightweight Title bout between Ben Henderson and Nate Diaz will headline the UFC on FOX 5 card on December 8th. The news comes via USA Today.

Fresh off a successful title defence at UFC 150 the champion Henderson will go to work again before the year is out. His opponent Nate Diaz is no stranger to FOX , in his last bout back in May he became the first man to submit and finish  Jim Miller at UFC on FOX: Diaz vs. Miller.

The champion Henderson successfully defended his title for the first time defeating former champion Frankie Edgar this past weekend at UFC 150 via a split-decision. The win moved Henderson’s overall record to (17-2).

The challenger Diaz returned to the Lightweight division after being dominated at Welterweight by Rory MacDonald. Since his return to lightweight he has finished Takanori Gomi and decisioned Donald Cerrone as well as becoming the first man to finish top lightweight Jim Miller which secured him the title shot.

agree…this fox card is building up pretty good, they just keep adding shit to it.looks like the end of the year will be nothing but stacked cards, about fucking time.this year was far from terrible but they haven’t been delivering t he best shows.they had to deal with a shitload of injuries.looks like their trying to make up for it right now.

  3. D A I2 K K II )( G T says:

what a car this will be! Henderson vs Diaz, Shogun vs Gustaffson, BJ vs Rory!

  4. Drew says:

Henderson facn the toughest and rawest dude he has fought yet in Nate… My gut is saying if bendo attacks nates legs I give bendo the advantage but if he doesn’t gotta give the edge to Nate

  5. Jpeech says:

Nate Diaz is a beast! That being said Bendo is a bad match up for him. Nate has really only lost to bigger stronger Wrestlers Rory Macdonald, Gray Maynard, Dong Hyun Kim and Clay guida. Ben Henderson has Amazing sub defense . although I dont think he has fought someone with the the skills of Diaz. I think that Bendo is going to be way to strong and his wrestling is goin to be way to good.

  6. SAMSON says:

Why would the UFC give show a title fight for free? Anybody got an answer.
I think this card would’ve gotten alot of buys. I’m grateful if on FOX.

  7. maurice says:

this card is literally the best card of all time!!! i just logged on and saw all these big fights and i was shocked to see them all on the same night. first i get to see THE PRODIGY return against gsp jr.

then i get to see shogun try to be the first man to test gustafasons chin in an all out war.

then i get to see the full evolution from nate being a young inexperienced tuf winner to becoming the champ of the most vicious weight class. goin to be a good night. not to mention the card is 3 days b4 my bday.

  8. JiuJitsuRules/BJJWhiz says:
