Just Scrap Radio | Jens and Abel Pulver Breakdown Nate Diaz vs Jim Miller | UFC NEWS
This weekend’s UFC upcoming bout between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller has everyone buzzing including former lightweight UFC champion Jens Pulver and little brother Abel Pulver during episode 3 of Just Scrap Radio.
“I think this fight has fireworks written all over.” says Abel Pulver. He moves on to talking about Nate Diaz
“Obviously, you got Nate coming off a fantastic performance against Donald Cerrone – kind of a brutal fight where Nate really let his hands kind of dictate – I thought… he just open a whole can on him.”
Abel’s take on Miller:
“Obviously, you got Miller who’s one of those guys that – you saw him just get tattooed a few times by Melvin Guilard-who anytime Guilard is hitting somebody like that – they usually go to sleep. Instead, Miller bounces right back – Ends up getting a sub early. I just don’t think you can kill a Miller.”
Jens responds back to Abel on Miller by stating….
“I like that boy man. He’s like my hillbilly heartthrob. The way he fights he’s just a nasty straight forward individual.”
Jens recalls Nate being a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 5 show, exclusively featuring lightweights. When he fought on Jens Pulver’s team:
“I know when it comes to Nathan – he definitely wanted to take that shot at 155 – guys like Gray Maynard who he had beaten top in the lader. He had his run at 170 – he’s big boy but now he’s dropping back down at 155. I’m pretty excited to see him come make a run because of his size and just the way he’s dominating at 155 before and definitely at the ultimate fighter a Team Pulver member.”
I’m really excited to see this fight. I can’t really see it standing up to much unless you know Nathan tends to go out there and fights like his brother Nick – just fight em and right up in your face constantly five shots close inside punches. Punches in bunches I think is the keyword on that one.
Abel Pulver ends the conversation by stating
“Yeah, I think obviously Nate‘s biggest problem is against guys that were able to take him down and kind of hold him there. There’s even fights where I remember even watching guys not even unlock their hands when they’re on the ground not even trying to strike literally just trying to out position him just trying to keep him in those spots and I just don’t see Miller as one of those guys that’s gonna try to make it a stinker like that.”
UFC on Fox3 Diaz vs Miller will be held on May 5th 2012 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ. Chants of “WAR DIAZ” is resonating but no one is taking “the always game” Jim Miller lightly.
