Junior dos Santos opens as a big favorite over Mark Hunt | UFC News

Two of the hardest hitters in the heavyweight division will collide at UFC 160 this May, and not surprisingly, former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos has opened as a large favorite over former K1 Champion Mark Hunt.
Bestfightodds.com currently has JDS as an early 4.6-to-1 (-460) favorite to defeat the “Super Samoan”. Junior dos Santos looked to be on the verge of a long title reign until he rematched former champ Cain Velasquez at UFC 155, where he suffered his first defeat inside the octagon. Prior to that loss, JDS had gone 9-0 under the UFC banner, including winning the heavyweight title at UFC on FOX 1 with his first-round KO of Cain Velasquez.
Meanwhile, Mark Hunt has been on a terror of late, he is currently riding a 4-fight win streak which includes 3 victories by way of knockout. The “Super Samoan” was last seen at UFC on FUEL TV: Stann vs Silva, where he destroyed opponent Stefan Struve with a brutal left hand that left the Dutchman with a broken jaw.
The JDS vs. Hunt bout will likely be pivitol in regards to determining the next contender to challenge for the heavyweight title.
UFC 160 takes place May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card airs on pay-per-view following the prelims on FX and Facebook. In the evenings main event, heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez defends his title in a rematch against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.
Will Mark Hunt continue to defy the odds and earn a shot at becoming UFC Heavyweight Champion? Let’s hear it Penn Nation!

I can’t wait for this one,I love both of these guys.JDS is one of my favorite fighters but hunt has been one of mine also when he was in pride.i mean this guy has beaten some of the top guys in the sport,he beat Cro Cop when he was in his prime form,he fought wanderlei and won that one,he did out weigh silva by like 70 lbs tho…LOL!he fought fedor but lost by submission.this guy has fought top competition his whole career.Dana has been given hunt bums since he came to the UFC,about time dana gave him some damn respect and gave him top flight guys in JDS.JDS is gonna use his footwork and speed in this fight and win by UD.I know these guys have crazy power but they also have granite chins.I see this happening like the JDS vs Carwin fight. This is gonna be war but hunt will be to slow for jds, just my opinion!
agree 100%,I see this going just like the jds and carwin fight.Even tho I want hunt to win I don’t think he’ll win this one,I’ll be honest.Cant wait for this fight.
Ill just throw $50 on Hunt for the hell of it..
Hunt by T.K.O
hunt by KO
Two of my favorite heavyweights. Maybe Hunt can work on his cardio and use some wrestling against Junior like Cain did, but he’s gonna have to watch out for that uppercut. Since both have hands and granite chins, it will either be like the Dos Santos vs. Carwin or possibly Dos Santos vs. Cain 2.
