Junior dos Santos Declares Fight with Cormier Once He Defeats Velasquez

Junior dos Santos would be making a potentially grave mistake in looking past his next challenge in UFC heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez. With all the talk of top prospect and Velasquez teammate, Daniel Cormier, possibly changing weight classes to face light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones, dos Santos felt the need to state that Cormier would serve as his first title defense in his second stint as UFC heavyweight champion.

In an interview with UOL Esporte, ‘Cigano’ stated that Cormier will be looking for revenge after he beats Cormier’s friend, Cain Velasquez. This will halt Cormier’s plans to drop to the 205-pound division, nixing a fight with Jones:

“He’s not [dropping to 205 pounds]. And you know why? Because I will defeat Cain, and he will want to fight me.”

Dos Santos is set to face Velasquez in the main event of UFC 166, completing their trilogy which split wins to one a piece. As for Cormier’s next fight, he will occupy the co-main event slot of the same card as he battle Roy Nelson in a heavyweight fight, one that could be his last in the division.

UFC 166 takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on October 19th. The event sold out in just three days since tickets went on sale.

Now that Tito is gone, JDS is the new ‘Melon Head’ of the UFC. Plus Cain is going to make you even uglier this time. You’ll need to go fight DC at 05 after Cain makes you irrelevant at HW. GO USA and especially GO USA WRESTLING!!!

  2. Steven Thurman says:

Cain completely outclasses JDS, which is perfect since JDS is getting so cocky. Gonna be fun to watch him rape

  3. 123 says:

@ Gargoyle Wrestling.. why are you so biased, im guessing you’re from the U.S of A hahaha

    • Gargoyle Wrestling says:

LOL…I actually like most of the British/Irish fighters. Especially McGregor. He has the brashness and confidence of a WRESTLER!!! I just won’t root for them when they fight USAians!!

  4. Ddddddddd says:

I hope this is a killer diller fight.
