Journalist’s Facebook post gets UFC Select to change its policy
As the saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
An annoyed MMA journalist’s complaint has led to a changing in the policy of the UFC’s new Youtube ‘Select’ service.
Bloodyelbow’s KJ Gould fired off a complaint on Facebook about the channel’s policy of having past fights uploaded for just a week.
Gould’s post read:
“Would have liked to have seen UFC 1 again, but it was only up for a week. Now I see no point in subscribing to this and paying a few bucks a month. You’ve got to have events up for longer than a week when you’ve only just launched a channel, otherwise you’re failing in a customer service experience and pushing customers to torrents and piracy.”
UFC Select responded:
“Thanks for your feedback . We have extended the availability for all videos to one month.”
Updated weekly, the aUFC Select channel provides access to full event replays, classic fights, and full episodes of UFC shows such as UFC Unleashed, The Best of Pride Fighting Championships and the hit reality show The Ultimate Fighter for the cost of $5.99 a month. The channel does offer a 14-day free trial.
