Josh Neer vs. Court McGee in the works for UFC 157 in Anaheim | UFC News

A welterweight bout between “The Ultimate Fighter Season 11″ winner Court McGee (13-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and UFC veteran Josh Neer (33-12-1 MMA, 6-8 UFC) is being targeted for UFC 157 in Anaheim, California.

McGee will fight for the first time since dropping down from middleweight to welterweight and finds himself in a must-win situation. After a 3-0 start to his UFC career, the Pit fighter has since suffered back-to-back decision losses to Constantinos Philippou and Nick Ring.

Josh Neer is also hoping to avoid a third straight loss. The longtime MMA vet had posted six straight wins, which included a stoppage victory over Duane Ludwig. However, since that win-streak, the Iowa-based fighter has suffered a knockout loss to Mike Pyle and was most recently was submitted by Justin Edwards.

UFC 157 takes place February 23rd at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The event is headlined by the promotions first-ever women’s fight, pitting champ Ronda Rousey against contender Liz Carmouche.

Man I love BJ, he is the reason I sarettd watching MMA. But if he comes back, I really think he should take Cesar up on his offer. BJ needs to surround himself with world class fighters who will show him how to obtain WORLD CLASS CARDIO. That is the answer, and frankly, BJ’s last few camps have not brought him to the level he should be at. I really hope BJ comes back to make another run at LW, but he needs to switch things up. Times have changed, and all the great fighters now have amazing cardio. I’ll always be a fan, but I think BJ needs to take a hard look at where’s he at now and realize that changes need to be made. WAR BJ!!
