Josh Barnett’s profile has been added to UFC.com | UFC News
A sign of things to come? Or a tease from the world’s top mixed martial arts promotion? Either way, former Strikeforce heavyweight Josh Barnett (31-6 MMA, 3-1 SF) is now listed as a fighter on UFC.com.
“The Warmaster” is still considered to be one of the top ten heavyweights in the world. He holds notable wins over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Semmy Schilt and Randy Couture. He was a finalist in the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, losing a decision to Daniel Cormier in the tournament finals.
What are the chances that he is octagon bound? Let’s hear it Penn nation!

I’d be a little surprised if he performed well in the UFC nowadays, but I think he’d bring a crowd along to watch the show. I’d like to see him on the roster again.
I didn’t realize the man was such a cheater. I don’t know whether I’d put him in there or not, split decision.
Let’s see here, what percentage of fighter’s cheat in your estimation? News Flash Bro, it’s in the 90 percentile if not 100%!!
A lot of fighters have a rough past …. However honestly I have been waiting for years to see Barnett back in the UFC …. I think he def deserves to be in there and in the top 10 HW class… With this new edition it only leaves a few more strikeforce fighters i’d even care to see in the UFC ….
Josh is still a top ten guy. Maybe even top 5. He matches up very well with plenty of the UFC’s heavyweight’s. I’d love to see him fight Mir, JDS, and Alistair.
I agree. I think he is a top ten guy. Would love to see him fight against Mir, because that would be a cool fight. Cain, Dos Santos or Overeem are too strong.
ufc’s hw division is still super thin. I think he can come in and prove why he’s a top 10 hw. Don’t think he’ll ever make #1 contender status tho. (or make $250,000 a fight)
did good in strikeforce but like many.. they dont do well in UFC …his first two fights will let us know where he really stands!!
WURD! Hopefully he gets a chance to prove himself, in the same manner Silva, Hendo, and Rampage did in their debuts in the Octagon.
He’s going to get annihilated. Might shut him up!
Ya cool became a fan of his in the cormier fight.
Barnet is a beast. He got out wrestled by an olympic wrestler and a younger stronger guy in Cormier. Barnett easily takes out most competition in the UFC HW division. If your not familiar with Barnet you will be soon. I’d like to see Barnet against Roy Nelson in his debut. His subs are sick.
I second that. Roy Nelson is by far the best opponent for his first fight back in the UFC
