Josh Barnett aims to ‘carve another headstone’ vs. Travis Browne

Josh Barnett (33-6 MMA, 5-1 UFC) returned to the UFC in emphatic fashion at August’s UFC 164 event in Milwaukee, scoring a first-round knockout of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir.

Since the win, Barnett has made his intentions clear, he wants to once again hold the UFC heavyweight championship. Standing in “The Warmaster’s” path to the title is Hawaiian Travis Browne (15-1-1 MMA, 6-1-1 UFC), who Barnett meets at this December’s UFC 168 event in Las Vegas.

Barnett appeared on Friday’s edition of AXS Television’s ‘Inside MMA,’ where he discussed his plans for “Hapa”:

“There is going to be at least 500 pounds in the ring,” said Barnett. “It’s a big opportunity for me. This guy is an up-and-coming young buck. He wants to prove his name, he wants to show that beating a guy like Alistair Overeem was not just a flash in the pan. He’s gonna look to make his name off of me, and I’m gonna look to just carve another headstone.”

Who do have winning when these two heavyweights clash on December 28? Let’s hear it Penn Nation!
