Jose Aldo Excited To Learn From BJ Penn In Brazil
It has been a little over a year since we have seen BJ Penn in action, and it seems the road back to competition will be paved with the help of UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and UFC interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao.
Penn will be coaching the next season of The Ultimate Fighter alongside his rival Frankie Edgar, and the two will meet up for the third time next summer. Penn has decided to train at Nova Uniao early next year, alongside Barao, Aldo, and Bellator bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas.
“B.J. is coming in January to know the gym and help us,” Aldo told MMAFighting.com. “He is going to the U.S. again, and then he’ll come back to train with us all for the rest of our camps.”
Although Penn has a history with Nova Uniao, as he received his Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt from Andre Pederneiras, he has not trained with Aldo or Barao in the past.
“I never trained with him. He was already a black belt when I was on the team, so I never had the chance to train with him. But I’ll have this honor now,” Aldo said.
