Jones And Management Deny Homophobic Rant On Instagram
Jon Jones is certainly no stranger to controversy.
Although, his newest problem is a new animal entirely.According to his Instagram account, Jones made several homophobic comments towards a Swedish fan on Instagram. However, both Jon Jones and his manager Malki Kawa stated on Twitter that the comments were made by someone who found the lost phone of Jones, not the Light Heavyweight Champion. “Just got a new phone. Changing all of my social media passwords. Apparently I was hacked,” Jones stated on Twitter after the incident occurred.
The incident, which occurred earlier this week, saw Jones’ Instagram account attack a fan who had instigated conversation with Jones on Twitter. According to screenshots (seen below), several homophobic comments were made on the fan’s Instagram pictures, including “you definitely have sexual identity issues” and “F-g s–t.”
Jones is expected to defend his title at UFC 172 on April 26, against Glover Teixeira.
