Jon Jones: ‘War Gods made Anderson Silva pay for abusing his gifts’

“I think Anderson Silva is a magnificent fighter. I think that he has an extraordinary gift. I think he’s gotten to the point where he really believes in his gift and he’s comfortable with his gift. He abused his gift, disrespected his gift, by disrespecting his opponent. Martial arts is a sport that is traditionally based around honor and integrity. You treat people with respect. He somehow lost sight of that and paid the ultimate price for it. I’m not over the Anderson Silva hype train. He was fighting at a masterful level, he just got disrespectful and the War Gods made him pay for it. He’s still great in my book.”

At today’s UFC 165 pre-fight press conference in Toronto, Jon Jones gave his take on the recent defeat of Anderson Silva.

and you my friend… are an idiot! I hate how fake this guy is… he needs to just come out and be himself… cocky as a motherfudger.

    • 757 says:

      I don’t, I wish I can have some “bones”.

      • 757 says:

Whoever used my name and made this fucked up comment ^^ is an asshole. I wish I knew who you were you little bitch and I would kick your ass. Reach out to me and let’s meet up and I will fuck you up …or just be a little pussy and hide behind fake names mother fucker.

        • Gargoyle Wrestling says:

Hey Bro – I know these weasels think they are cute and smart the little cunts, but EVERYBODY knows that shit ain’t you. I have a suspicion it is ..T!

  2. Magoo says:

    Nailed it Jonathan!!

  3. doc says:

A Christian that believes in war gods?

  4. Dddddddd says:

I like the way John thinks. I think he protects himself in his own way. He has never disrespected anyone anywhere near as bad as Anderson. If Johnny did what Anderson does everyone would lose their minds. Johnny wins so dominantly that I think it’s hard for people to process it without seeing him as some kind of bully. He has a rediculous reach for sure and if I was him I’d thank my parents for it every morning.
I don’t know about judging him as a Christian for one of his fighting metaphors and every time someone insults him for his size it’s obviously penis envy. Johnny wouldn’t treat someone like that and that’s his point.

  5. squid says:

this coming from a guy who let an unconscious machida drop on his face INSTEAD of slowly, RESPECTFULLY lowering him to the ground… come on jones, you’re definitely the top p4p fighter in the game today and probably will go down as the greatest when all is said and done, but don’t be a hypocrite.

    • ballsackface says:

      You are an idiot.
watch the replay over and over and if you know anything about that manoeuvre there is not a way to let go of someone gently.
machida weighed approx 215-220lb after hydration when someone is pulling on a neck and you are told to release the only way to lower them slowly his by keeping hold of the guillotine. if you hadnt noticed he was choked cold so any further hold on the neck is potentially dangerous.
As soon as he let go he was pushed away from herb dean and with that weight and the speed he dropped he wouldnt be able to catch him.
most standing guillotines end like that.
      get over yourself

      • The Way Of The Dutchman says:

Nope….He raised his hands and let the unconscious Machida drop on his face.

      • squid says:

so you’re saying machida weighed approximately 215-220lbs. really? wow, i never knew that. i thought he was 205? how did you come across that information? no shit. how much do you suppose jones weighed? 220lbs, too? you dumbass. machida’s weight makes no difference because jones is the heavier, bigger fighter. your argument about weight there makes you the idiot. as for holding the choke, he could’ve at the very least held or ATTEMPT TO HOLD machida’s BODY up against the fence IMMEDIATELY after he let go of his neck. don’t give me this bs that machida dropped too fast for jones to catch him. jones was right there. their bodies were touching. he’s strong enough and his reflexes and coordination are fast enough to catch a limp machida who’s already leaning on him. he’s one of the best athletes in the world, goddamnit. what else you got to say? gonna go for the personal attacks? i get over myself pretty easily. maybe you should get jones’ ball sack out of your face so you can properly use your eyes for once. moron. owned.

        • ballsackface says:

they weigh in at 205. pretty much no fighter is 205 on fight day after they are hydrated. you dont know shit.
hes weight is a factor when hes head is caught up in a choke stood up and lifted off the floor by his neck.
when something that weights around 215 is let go of then it drops fast. if he had held the choke any longer then it would have been more dangerous. everyone in a standing guillotines drop like that. youtube that shit. you are clueless
im not owned you are as you didnt even notice my bait at saying the ref was HERB DEAN you idiot. you just jump on the bandwagon and chat shit
only the fans complain about that choke. mma fighters inside and outside of ufc recognise why that happened.

    • Squid: you're dumb says:

      that’s it. nothing else…

  6. Kingsforge says:

What is it with you girls going on about his personality all the time? Who gives a flying f**k?! Everyone jumps on Chaels d**k when he runs his mouth then gets his ass handed to him, but just because Jones is ‘fake’ you all whine about it.

So what if maybe he’s not 100% himself and does and days what people tell him he should? It’s just business and this guy f**king WRECKS people in the cage.

  7. KIDD433 says:

Jon Jones does the most scumbag shit I’ve ever seen is the front kicks to oppononents Knees. That kick is directly intended to hyper extend opponents knees. Which is a really bad injury, u can be out for a year, or even be retired with that kick. And he talks about martial arts integrity? This guy without a doubt is a fake piece of shit. I’m aware that its not ilegal yet, but even in kickboxing, or Muay Thai bouts its not ilegal, but guess what nobody throws it out of RESPECT for their opponents. the fact that Jones brings up respect blows my mind

    • Ddddddd says:

Anderson Silva brought that move with him to the UFC. Aren’t you a big fan of his? Johnny’s only weakness is being inspired by Anderson. Anderson even tried it on Weidman before he got his brains scrambled.

  8. 757 says:

Silva sucks now. He always has. He just hadn’t fought anyone good

  9. Oops says:

Jones is just telling it how it is.
Silva got taught a lesson. If you do that stuff all the time you will one day get caught. If you think you can’t be hurt you will be. Goes with life as well.

  10. jay says:

Why are people so salty at Jon Jones? He can do no right for some folks. Can’t he just be a respectful athlete who kicks as in the cage? Smh. Lol. Its hilarious the salt thrown his way.

  11. 757 says:

Whoever it is that keeps using my name on their comments needs to stop. Straight up that is a pussy thing to do. Don’t be a little pussy and speak your mind using your own screen name. Faggot I have no respect for that and neither does anyone else…..stop being a little pussy and grow up

  12. Miles14843 says:

Can anyone tell me when anouther fighter caught and lowered anouther fighter to the ground, everyone loves it when a guy blast a guy when he is out cold on the mat never seen anyone complain. people are so F**&ing petty its sad.
