Jon Jones Wants To Handle Unfinished Business With Dan Henderson | UFC NEWS

“[The UFC 151 controversy] affected me a lot, but I made up my mind to keep my eyes on the prize through all the adversity and remember why I’m here. I’m here to win. I’m here to be a great champion. Trials and tribulations are there for a reason. As long as things weren’t life and death, I just have to be grateful for it. It was a lot [to deal with], but I can honestly say that I feel like more of a man and a stronger individual… Honestly, I think I have some unfinished business with Dan Henderson. When he heals up, I’d like to pick up where we left off.”

UFC light-heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, took to the post-UFC 152 festivities to talk about who he wants next on his quest for greatness.

Originally scheduled to face off with Dan Henderson at UFC 151, Jones expressed his desire to rebook that fight which previously eluded him.

  1. Bitch ass Greg J says:

Wipe out the light heavyweight then fight Anderson Silva or move up to heavyweight. We need to see you fight the best the UFC has to offer, not just your division. And you need to fight younger contenders who are in their primes, not former champs who are past their primes. Cain or JDS would be good competion for you.

    • sidekix says:

Your dumb, he’s only 24 why does he have to try to be the best RIGHT NOW for you lol give him 5 years to reach his prime then complain.

      • Bitch ass Greg J says:

Go talk to children your fucking age!

        • Lambeezy says:

Those younger fighter need and will have to earn their way up the ladder how it should be… he will get to them and I am sure after he whipes the division there will be a superfight with him and anderson

    • When you move up a weight class you don’t immediately fight the best. That’s a fast ticket out of the UFC. If he moves up he needs to move his way up to a title shot and get used to fighting guys that are bigger than him. That’s why I think it’s lame when people actually expect GSP vs Silva to be a great match if it happens. It’s suicide. They have to earn that shot at the title.

  2. CANADAN1 says:

Belfort exposed Jones, he showd Jon is Human, he could have broke his arm but JESUS sayd NO lol Hendo can stand and Take his head off and will stop his takedowns. This fight needs to HAPPEN, and I bet 500$ Hendo will take the title

    • Joshua C says:

      delusional

    • jbeamazing says:

      Yeah were all human………..

    • magoobet shoo says:

      I’ll take that bet. =D

    • Hey Dummy says:

I’m a fan of Jones, but what fight made you think he was super-human? You play up the hype in your own mind because you hate and you’re retarded. And I hate too. I hate all the idiots like you who choose to continue talking out of your asses! Vicious cycle of hate, I know. One day it ends. Maybe today…

And mail my $500 already. Jones isn’t going to lose to Hendo (if they ever fight). Kicks are legal. Elbows are legal. No one has figured out that part of Jones’ game yet. Bring on Gustaffson already so we can see if Jones can handle a taller opponent with excellent striking. Hendo is not the answer to the Jones riddle.

    • 757 says:

I used to think so but the reality is that Hendo will get beat up by Jones. Sorry I have to give credit where it is due. Hendo will get beat up. He has no Jits and Jones will out wrestle him. Let’s not forget he got out wrestled by Rampage, Sheilds, for that matter shogun, and tapped by Anderson. He will get beat. It’s all over for him

  3. Hjortur Halldorsson says:

Is it just me or has Jon Jones said the word “adversity” at least hundred times these last couple of weeks?
I’m getting sick of that word. But Jon Jones is one hell of a fighter… unfortunately :D

  4. 123 says:

if jon jones went up to heavyweight he would get beat by… junior dos santos, cain velasquez, stefan struve, frank mir, & big nog… he wouldn’t even be a top 5 heavyweight… in my opinion.

    • Badger says:

JBJ vs JDS hell yeah, now thatd be a fight.

    • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

I can agree that JDS would beat Jones. Overeem would also beat him and Cain and Cormier would cause him serious trouble. But in no shape or form would Struve, Mir and Big Nog stand a chance against Jones. He would pick them apart.

      • B-rad says:

Struve no, but Mir and Nog would have a goooooood chance subbing him. Dont get me wrong Vitor is a great BJJ practicionar, but mir and nog are on a different level. And Vitor should have went home with Jonny’s arm but jesus loosend the arm bar enough for Bones to escape XD

        • Hjortur Halldorsson says:

I realize that Mir and Nog could submit him but I simply can’t see them taking Jones down, unless of course they would pull guard or simply flying armbar :-D Jones would IMO easily keep the distance against them because they don’t have the footwork that’s necessary to close in on Jones.
Do you honestly think that they would get close to Jones?
Guys like Rashad couldn’t even get close.

But Jones really needs to move to HW plain and simple. Pack on some muscle, his thighs could easily use about 10-15 pounds or so :-D

      • Lambeezy says:

You have to realize that Jones would be a lot different of a fighter if he was to move up.. a lot more bulk and muscle… the Jones you see in Light heavy weight would not be the same Jones you would see in heavy weight… if he was to move up I am sure he would make sure he was mentally and physically prepared.. a bigger Jones would be a more deadlier Jones

    • B-rad says:

You say stefan struve and Frank Mir, but you dont mention the 2nd best HW in the world, The Reem!! All those guys you listed are bad matchups for him but the Reem is the worst matchup for him by far! Imagaine what one of those knees or liver kicks would do to JBJ’s lanky frame. look what it did to the human tank aka Brock Lesnar!

      • Sean says:

lol overeem the 2nd best hw in the world. good joke i needed a laugh

      • Philly says:

Not saying that Reem doesn’t throw heavy kicks, but remember Lesnar recently had his stomach cut open and 12 inches of intestine removed. I think had a fighter of even average power connected to his mid-section, Lesnar would have collapsed.

  5. Noah says:

I wanna c Spider v Bones b4 Bones get up in the HW!

  6. B-rad says:

Feed him to the Reem monster! He aint got no Horse meat in America so you know hes hungry

  7. Xaninho says:

Is he trying to make a habit out of fighting legends beyond their prime?

    • magoo says:

Other then Gustafson or Davis who else is there numbskull? If JBJ wasn’t in the LHW div all these so called legends beyond there prime would all still be in the mix. Shogun,Machida,Evans, Henderson,Belfort hell maybe even Rampage there all very good fighters and anyone of them could hold the title. But that’s how good Jones is he makes them all look the way you described them!

  8. KIDD433 says:

Of course Jones wants to fight Hendo.Hendo is much smaller LHWT,Jones wants to beat up another much smaller 6’footer.He needs to stop being a lil bitch and move to Heavyweight and fight guys at least somewhat closer in size.Dos Santos is who he should fight.Sick of seeing him beat up on these
    smaller muthafkers

    • Shonan says:

Look at the in ring staredown. Victory was clearly the bigger of the two. Jones was just taller. Stop with the “he’s too big” nonsense.

    • magoo says:

Sick of hearing every piss and moan about Jon should be fighting at HW. He made weight at 205 so what the hell are you idiots bitching about? Aldo cuts from 170 down to 145, GSP cuts from 190 to 170, Anderson Silva cuts from 210 to 185!!!! Other the the fact these fighters all dominate there weight classes, what’s Really bothering you?

  9. WELLHUNG says:

the arguement of moving around weight classes is stupid. if you can make a particular division (hes so young he hes taking obvious advantage of easily making 205) and are successful then keep doing it.

hes 205 champ people need bring the fight to him…no one has done it yet and until they do he’ll have the belt, deal with bitches. btw beflort got closest with that armbar.

  10. this is why pride was the best back in the day, how about a UFC grand prix? now we are talking real competition and contenders. JJ is a hell of a fighter, amazing, i still dont like him at all but he IS amazing.

  11. Nate says:

Most of Jon Jones bigger wins over the last few fights have been against older fighters that would have beaten him to a pulp had they been in their prime but he is facing them on their downhill slope honestly while he is in his prime. I would love to see him fight a younger opponent for once like Gustaffson or maybe one of the Nogueira’s would be fun to test him more on his jiu jitsu. If he made a move to Heavyweight his natural weight class I would love to see him fight Cain Velasquez or more or less get killed by Cain Velasquez.

  12. Bromans says:

I said this before and I Said this Again
JBJ is à pussy for not fighting guys he’s own size, age and prime

Give him our swedish Viking Alexander Gustafsson and yes he has been working on he’s wrestling after Davis beat him

  13. 757 says:

Why should he move seriously? He is the champ. I don’t like him personally but he is the champ, and a serious fighter. Vitor is a serious fighter. I like him. He got beat and that is what it is. All of the fighters are seriously dangerous people. Jones is the champ in his division and that’s how it goes. Maybe someday he will move up but for now he is busy being the champ at 205…get over it
