Jon Jones Wants A Pro-Boxing Match Against A Klitschko Brother

The Klitschko brothers are the most dominant boxing duo in their sport. Collectively they hold every single major heavyweight title in the world.

They serve as promoters, athletes and do their fair share of charity work in Germany which has seen them obtain much success and popularity in their home country.

UFC light-heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, believes that his boxing is up to snuff now that he’s had the time to work on it and the champ wants a crack at the Klitschko’s one day in the future.

“The thought of boxing has become way more real to me,” Jones said during an interview with Fox 11’s James Koh.

“One of the Klitschko brothers,” Jones said regarding a possible opponent. “It’s been something I’ve really, really been thinking about and maybe we can entertain that in the future.”

We’ve seen what happens when boxers make the shift to MMA. But what if the talent goes the other way?

One thing is certain, Jones has to get past the hands of Alexander Gustafsson this weekend before talks of switching sports can even become a partial reality.

you may not win but one things forsure, youll make more money in one fight then youve made in your ufc career.

  2. A. Chung says:

Jones is a great MMA fighter and he has a chance of being the GOAT; however, Jones would get his ass handed to him by any decent professional heavy weight boxer. Much the same way that any boxer would get their has handed to them in a MMA against any decent mix martial artist. If Jones want to fight a Klitshko brother for the fame, I think this is a bad idea. He wants to do it for the money that I say go for it.

  3. mean170 says:

That would be the best chance we’ve got of seeing Jones KO’d. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Jon throw a combination with his hands.

  4. scotty says:

Alright if he wants to box all of sudden, then he should stand box with Gustaffson and see how he matches up.. I would put my money on Gus he would win in a boxing match! But we all know thats not going to happen cause he is just going to try to take Gus down..

  5. Thesire says:

Does anyone remember when JDS was making claims he could knock out a klitschko? I say HA! Both Jon and JdS are elite mma fighters but I’m just wondering where they get these ideas that they can hang with a pro boxer, I would love to see it thought

  6. JToney says:

Why would a Klitcho want to fight Jones?

    • Nick Nixon says:

Just to knock him out & for a few more dollars/euros. I’m sure it wouldn’t take either Klitchko more than 1-2 minutes to KO Jon Jones.

  7. Dafak says:

Are you people insane ? Jones has every chance to beat some old washed up boxer that no one cares about. Boxing is just a small part of what MMA guys do and to be fair – boxing is a damn easy sport. What you boxing fan boys are forgetting is that Jones is younger, faster and probably hits just as hard as one of them out of shape 40 year old Ukrainians. I don’t know if Jones can knock out a Klitschko but he sure has a chance of winning.
Everyone that do not agree are obviously boxing fan boys.

    • dont ask my opinion says:

Boxing is not an easy sport by any means. I think the Russians would dust him

    • scotty says:

First , Jones wants to box him not have an mma fight.. And second boxing is an easy sport? just by u saying that i can tell u never trained boxing a day in your life.. Because if u did that statement would have never came out of your mouth.. Go train some boxing and watch guys in a training camp for boxing, then come back and tell us its an easy sport.. one dimensional yes, easy?

      • Dafak says:

Firstly, I am talking about a boxing match. Again, as I said before, boxing is a small, small part of MMA and it’s something that Jones is quite good at. Surely he can handle some old out of shape boxer that’s absolutely irrelevant. And yes – boxing is an easy sport. Have you trained in submission grappling or wrestling ? That’s hard, not two fat dudes hitting each other flat on the chin.

    • Jujitsu Player says:

You’re either trawling or a retard.

  8. Jujitsu Player says:

    Jones just “jumped the shark”

  9. KIDD433 says:

If he wants to show he can he box,he should prove it in his MMA fights, and not do lil bitch shit like shoot for a takedown 10 seconds in fight like he did with Vitor. Now all of the sudden he thinks he’s some hot shot boxer. Jones’ ego is getting pretty big from fighting smaller guys

    • Nick Nixon says:

There’s nothing wrong with being arrogant & having a big ego if you actually plan on doing what you say you want to do. But, Jon Jones knows damned well he is not going to box anyone, especially a Klitchko Brother.
