Jon Jones tells Cormier to quit talking and make the drop | UFC News
Last weekend, after defeating Dion Staring at Strikeforce’s final event, Daniel Cormier called out UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones during his post-fight interview.
Jones, who has voiced his respect for “DC’s” abilities, says he wants Cormier to quit talking about a drop to the 205-pound division and be like Nike and “Just do it.”
“I think the guy is a tremendous athlete and I wish he would just do it and just stop talking about it. I am open to fighting the best guys in the world. That’s why I’m here.”
Don’t talk about, be about it! That’s what UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones message was to the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner on “UFC Tonight”.
Cormier has stated that he will “Kick his (Jones) ass”, should Jon successfully defend his belt against Chael Sonnen at UFC 159 in April. But first and foremost, Cormier will have to take care of some business in the UFC’s heavyweight division, as he is set to take on former champion Frank Mir at UFC on FOX 7 on April 20, 2013.

Can’t agree more, or maybe heavy weight champ if he doesn’t drop weight, he beat Barnett easily and Barnett could beat most ufc heavy weights.
Gotta agree with Jones on this one. If Cormier is trying to pick a fight, he should make the drop. It’s not like Bones is calling him out. Same thing applies to Rousey; she’s trying to pick a fight with Cyborg yet she won’t move up. Pretty cowardly.

Cormier can be a beast? What is Jones,chopped liver? Jones is the beast, make no mistake about it. If Jones has a weakness I never have seen it.
Jones is way too tall and long for DC. I’m not counting DC out at all. But I think Jones’ length will make the difference.

Yeah I wouldn’t count out DC either but I think Jones has got this one. Jones has the technical abilities to defeat Cormier.

He is a beast, but he will not defeat Jones. There is no way he could get past the reach of Jon. And Cormier’s striking is strong but it is VERY one dimensional. Bones throws kicks, elbows, punches from everywhere!

DC to beat Mir for me, Mir can’t take a punch, I would prefer DC to stay at heavy, but if he does drop to meet Jones don’t rue him out, I think Jones cardio over 5 hard rounds may be suspect.

DC is WAY too short to give Jones any problems standing up and in the clinch/on the ground, Jon’s leverage and strength will negate DC’s superior technique. At 205 DC is basically a slightly bigger, stronger version of Rashad but WAY slower. His wrestling is better but like I said, Jon’s height and strength will negate that.
