Jon the only reason you are doing so well is your size advantage. Guys like Big Foot, Werdum, Cigano, Cain, and Overeem will take your head out of your shoulders.
Yeah but the same could be said for a number of bigger fighters, Silva is massive for a MW, also Thiago Alves is massive for a WW and many LWH’s started off as HW’s and MW’s who started off as LHW’s. You’ve just got to concede JBJ is in a league of his own at LWH. He has to make the same weight as everyone else so it’s an even playing field.
When it comes to moving up I think he’ll have some success, I do not think he will ever beat a Cain/JDS NO WAY NO HOW or other top contenders but certainly think he would do well against the middle order.

JDS would destroy Jones, and so would Cain, Cormier, and most top heavyweight contenders.
He have a steafy wrestling base and if he connwcts harder with ech hit he delivera then yeah but the thing is JDS hits hard, reaaally hard and he moves like a LWer. If JJ can keep his speed and increase his power the same time then yes he will have a very solid shot at the HW title. But that is assuming that Cain wont win, cuz if Cain is the champ then i dont see JJs wrestling being effective and yeah… Just dont see that happening.
I don’t believe its just a size advantage JBJ does have a ability to adjust to his opponent..Brandon Vera had the same size advantage over fighters in the light HW division and didnt do very well..The kid is realistic his legs are twigs and his muscle mass isnt there yet..Hope he does move up eventually the match ups would be intresting for sure..
JBJ reach is 80″ thats why he beat top LHW fighters he fights way on the outside so there isnt no echange and if he gets hit he switches to wrestling,no way he can beat guys in hw he isnt strong enough to knock out people in lhw so i dont see him beating most hws like jds, velasquez , carwin,nogera even struve and nelson would beat him he should stay in LHW but i would like to see him get knocked out so i wouldnt mind if he did
Actually Jones has a 84.5 ” reach is why he has such a huge advantage over other LHW. Cormier, Cain, JDS, will destroy Jones but more than likely Greg Jackson will find a way to avoid any bad matchups at HW

I don’t understand why people are saying why doesn’t he move up right now Anderson silva does it blah blah blah… You realize that the difference between weight limits from MW to LHW is 20pounds opposed to the 60pounds difference from LHW to HW… And Anderson also was well older than jbj wen he went up to fight at 205.. Jones is young and needs to develope his skills some more because more so than any other division if mess up at HW ur gettin knocked out… Give him a year or two

Truth is, it is damn difficult to become a UFC multi-division champion. Unlike boxing, MMA(UFC) has aspects in the game that makes size a tremendous advantage.
Apart from the bantam, feather, and light divisions…. it will be long before we’ll see a dominant fighter in two weight divisions from middleweight up.

Reem is also a good indicator of how massive Jones could be at HW. AO was that lanky skinny LHW not all that long ago, with a huge frame and height, now he is a monster. Jones actually has a BIGGER frame.
Y’all need to check your math. JBJ will come into his first HW fight at 245-250 and he will still have a 7-8 in reach advantage over the guys in that division.
Its early to tell. Can JBJ compete in HW now? In the lower ranked fighters, but lucky he is young because he has a long way to go to catch up to the top 10. A match with Anderson Silva is no easy task, but i think he is closer to competing against the G.O.A.T. Mr. Spider then he is to go against any top 10 HW.
well, the MW & LHW right now is pretty boring because of silva & jones. its not about who will win anymore but how they’re going to kill their opponents. it’s time to see new talents and on my opinion it is best that jones moves up to HW and so as silva moving to LHW, if they’re not going to fight anyway. if this happens i believe this pose new challenges on both fighters making them more exciting and probably bring back the excitement on the divisions that the left.
If that would happen the next MW champ will always have to listen to people saying he’s only the champ because Anderson Silva moved up, which would be true.
I’m not even a “big” fan of JBJ but I think he could do very good things at HW. Do not forget that he have a 7.5 inch reach advantage on JDS… I’m not saying that he beats JDS but that he has the reach advantage also in the HW division…

As for jones in the HW division,he wouldnt last long, the only reason hes done so well is that reach hes got 84.5 inches… the average LHW would have a reach of around 74 inches and be around 6ft 1 in height , were if he moved up to HW the average reach would be around 78 inches and be 6ft 3 in height , listen it just isnt jones reach thats got him to were he is the guy has some serious skills, but if he moved up hes in trouble in my opinion! guys that have skinny legs and long necks are more knowing for being kod that just what i think would happen because if he moved up his reach wouldnt have the same affect as it did before
